CPAP vs BIPAP
CPAP vs BIPAP
My doctor said after a couple weeks of auto cpap she would decide if I need cpap or bipap. What is the determining factor(s) for need to move up to bipap? If it is numbers is there a typical cut off? Thanks!

						Re: CPAP vs BIPAP
Usually pressure needs in the teens will get you a bipap or sometimes having bad aerophagia at the lower single digit pressures will get you a bipap or sometimes screaming loudly that "I can't exhale against these pressures no matter what they are" will get you a bipap.
Lower teens might not be so bad but above 14 or 15....a bipap would certainly be more comfortable. People do use cpap/apap at pressures of 18 to 20 successfully but a bilevel pressure machine would be an easier adjustment.
