Re: Feedback on Sleepyhead Report???
Kathy, what equipment are you using (full name & model # of machine, and what type of mask)? What have your previous readouts looked like and how do you feel?
Re: Feedback on Sleepyhead Report???
Hi Julie!
I have entered my machine info in the control panel and do not know why it is not showing!
It is a 560 model Philips Respironics. I start at a 5 & go to a 10. I use nasal pillows.
I believe I have seen a big improvement in my sleep since reading tips from the board. I still take a nap everyday, but I do not feel that drop dead exhaustion I had for so long.
I am not real savvy about reading reports & analyzing things so I am a slow learner when it comes to technical stuff. It seems a lot of new members pick up on data, slang, etc. quickly while it takes me time to digest.
I will re-check the machine info to see why it did not show!

you picked the wrong thing, easy to do, the eq list is *very* confusing, especially with the PR stuff.Greenkat wrote:Hi Julie!

Re: Feedback on Sleepyhead Report???
Palerider,
I didn't get to pick....didn't even know there were so many options out there until after I started my treatment this past May!!!
ALL the info I have learned is HERE...due to a lapse in my insurance I had to delay my July sleep dr. report to next month. Maybe he will be as enlightening as some of the board members have been, but I won't hold my breath. (No pun intended!

Re: Feedback on Sleepyhead Report???
SleepyHead says your have the PR System One Pro CPAP.....that would be either model 450 or 460 and not the 560.
Disregard the Remstar part of the model name. Respironics has used that term on all their machine since time began. It's of no value in determining model name.
The old discontinued machines have broken links and won't show up if you choose them.
Turn your blower unit over and look for a 3 digit model number which may have REF or DS in front or behind it.
If it says 450....this would be the correct machine choice in your equipment profile...go look in the grouping starting with "PR System One"
PR System One Pro CPAP with CFlex
But unfortunately that link is broken and you need to just manually type the model name in your comments section
the correct humidifier for the 450 model is
PR System One Heated Humidifier
If it says 460 then that means you have one of the latest model 60 series machines and the correct machine choice would be
PR System One 60 series CPAP xxxxx
and humidifier would be
PR System One 60 series heated tube humidifier with heated tube ...even if you don't have the optional heated hose right now.
Looking at the one report....your pressure is not sufficient to prevent the airway collapse when you see those clusters of events.
They are predominantly OA and hyponea. For some reason you need more pressure during that time frame. Usual suspects for that would be supine sleeping or REM stage sleep or maybe both.

Re: Feedback on Sleepyhead Report???
Hi Pugsy!
thanks for getting back to me so quickly!
You are correct about my machine so I re-entered the info in the detail section....will see if it shows up or if that is the last technical thing I need to address!
I do believe I wind up on my back and that may be why I am having the issues at that time. Regardless of that, however, are you suggesting I might need to go beyond a 10 to compensate for this? If so, it is something I want to discuss with the sleep doctor.
I also have a question that may sound dumb, but in reviewing my data it seems to record the time you 'mask up' & turn on the machine as the time you go to sleep and my wake up time is when I turn the machine off. Is this how it works? I often go to bed & cannot get to sleep for 30-45 minutes yet the report indicates I slept when I was laying there.
Could you clear that up for me?
I am very invested in this treatment given I have persistent A-fib at the ripe old age of 57, and how well things go with this treatment could potentially improve my efforts with my Afib treatment.
Thanks for providing such a great service!

Re: Feedback on Sleepyhead Report???
You still don't have the correct equipment chosen.
You have a model 460 machine.
These are the choices that you need to make in your equipment drop down menu list. They are active links. If you choose these and change it...the links will work.
Machine...PR System One 60 Series Remstar Pro CPAP (you have chosen the PR System One Plus CPAP with CFlex..disregard the CFlex as all the Pros have CFlex +)
Humidifier...PR System One 60 Series Heated tube humidifier with heated tube.
In your comments section you mention PR System One 60 Series Plus CPAP with CFlex...the Plus part is incorrect...your machine is the Pro model
I know it's confusing because of the use of the term Plus in the brick and the term Plus when referring to CFlex but they actually denote 2 different things.

I have changed my machine so the right information is posted
Would you be able to tell me if I need my pressure increased from a 10 based on my report?
Thank you!

Re: Feedback on Sleepyhead Report???
If all your reports look like the June 2 report linked to above....yeah probably a little more pressureGreenkat wrote:Would you be able to tell me if I need my pressure increased from a 10 based on my report?
but I would really like to see a few recent typical nights before saying for sure because you mentioned that the above report was one of your worse nights. I am not much on changing stuff based on a fluke bad night.

Re: Feedback on Sleepyhead Report???
This above was my initial comments about the one night's report shown. If you see lots of nights like this with the clusters then yes, most likely a little more pressure as long as the clusters are primarily OA or hyponea.Pugsy wrote:Looking at the one report....your pressure is not sufficient to prevent the airway collapse when you see those clusters of events.
