I had a 3 night ordeal. First night all wired up, didn't have what I thought was anything but my normal night. Well I never got past stage 2 sleep and had an ahi index of 108.5/ hour with O2 desat to 81%.
Needless to say I was scheduled for titration 2 days later which I bailed out of at 11:30 pm because I couldn't exhale against the pressure & felt like I was drowning as & combination of the nasal mask and being a mouth breather(which I made known numerous times). I got a call from the sleep doc at 10:00am scheduling me for a daytime mask tryout with a full face mask this time. Using the FF mask & less aggressive pressure I actually slept 1.5hours. Had a full titration 2 days later which I made it to REM stage & got through all night. Waited 1month to get my follow up where I got a Resmed S9 elite and my PR comfortgel blue full face mask.
I've been using both for months now (10 or 11) & my ahi nightly every night since hasn't been above 3. Hope you get as good results as I've enjoyed.

Re: Sleep study done - "You slept"
I had only one study but it was split. Mine was ordered by my PCP. I know the tech can't give you any info after the study so I never bothered to even ask. I waited 5 days and called the study location and was told the results were faxed to my PCP so I called him. He said I had moderate to severe apnea leaning more towards severe. I figured something was up as the tech did tell me if needed she would hook me up to a CPAP if "conditions warranted". I found out thru my PCP that during my test my O2 dropped down to 74% which is pretty low! He told me he was Rx a CPAP and the provider would be in contact with me. I heard from them the next day and told as soon as the ins approved they would be back in touch to schedule delivery and instructions of my machine. When I heard back about 4 days later I was told it would another 10 days for delivery but if I chose to go in I could get my machine in 4 days so I chose that option. I was instructed on both the reasons for why I was prescribed the machine and how to use it. I was also told I needed to be compliant on using the machine or the ins would reject payment.
So far my experience with everything from my study till now has been good. Yes it takes time to get used to the machine but for my health I need to use it. I have been getting better sleep. I know this because I feel better, have more energy and more patience.

Just a test. I replied last night to some of the comments - it's not here. Just sending this to test things out before I type my replies again. No need to respond!
This is only a test . . .

Re: Sleep study done - "You slept"
Okay, not sure what happened to the post I wrote last night, but here I go again!
First I wanted to thank all of you for the replies. They helped calm me down some yesterday and even more today (after a, for me, decent night's sleep). I guess I got it into my head that SURELY they'd come put the mask on, as I feel SO lousy every morning I must be pretty bad. And when he didn't, I thought, in my sleep deprived state, that it meant I wasn't showing up that bad. But your tales of your sleep studies have shown me that it's not necessarily true and I have hopes that something will show up.
I will start "squeaking" on Monday and call the neurologist office, bwexler and I've been working on that "homework" of reading the info at the top of the forum!
Purple, I took a shower there at the place before I left, as I'd just had a 24 hr EEG done the week before with WAY more electrodes and goop and had to go home and wash it out. For both times I just rewashed my hair about 4-5 times and was able to get most of it out. Of course, I have short hair and I went in just before my EEG and told my hairdresser to cut it really short and why. When I was a teen I had an EEG done and I was pulling that glue out of my hair for weeks!
RicaLynn, can't believe your experience was so similar to mine! Now, the only difference with an x-ray tech and the sleep lab tech is at least, if you get a glimse of your x-ray, you can tell right away if something's broken or fractured and don't have to wait for a doctor to confirm it, sigh. I'm still gonna push to have my results as soon as possible, my kids will be coming the week after next (when our school officially starts), so if I have to do a titration lab after this coming week, it will have to be on the weekend.
I've also been reading the Success Stories thread and finding it very enlightening.
I've never wanted a Monday to come so fast as I do now!
Thanks again,
Heidi
