Have sleeping incline (e.g. wedge) helped ur aerophagia?

I have been struggling with air swallowing: viewtopic/t99251/My-fight-with-aerophag ... owing.html. I wake up with a painful bloated stomach, but thankfully no discomfort during the day after clearing my bowels in the morning.

Lowering pressure and upping exhale relief has reduced the bloating considerably. However, I still wake up after 5+ hours of CPAP sometimes with painful bloating.

I am thinking of using a bed wedge to sleep inclined. Has it worked for anyone before?

Yes, I do find it helps a fair bit. When I was in uni I got a couple of body pillows on clearance at target, admittedly none match and the colors are...chaotic, but hey, clearance. I then took some cheap yarn that didn't feel snuggly enough to knit a project in that some one gave me for free, and I used that to tie the body pillows together to be a wedge.

Tying them together is probably optional, but I am a very....active....sleeper. I've posted before about how before I got the 10 foot hose, I was pulling the whole cpap over and upside down in my sleep. Waking up from drowning dreams because your mask is full of humidifier water? Not a good way to get used to a mask. But yeah, the longer hose solved that problem. I have room to roam now.

Give the wedge a shot and also try to sleep on your side. I try to get to my left side, but if you sleep right side it still helps some too, either way is better than back. Helps with heartburn, I find it helps with the air swallowing too. It's cheaper than one of those adjustable beds which I did end up getting one of those as a no-interest-plan...but yeah you may as well try a pillow stack or a proper wedge pillow first and see if it's helping before going to more expensive solutions.

Thanks for your input!

I do sleep on my side. In fact, I only experience aerophagia when I force myself to sleep on my side (backpack with tin cans in it ). Unfortunately, my AHI is sky high on my back.

I think I managed to solve my aerophagia problem! (will update my other thread) But its good to know that wedge pillows helps. Its an option for newcomers and myself if something crop up in the future.
