I think that the following Resmed's patent describes the operation of the present S9 VPAP Adapt. Except there are no separate mask pressure leads going from the mask to the machine in present machines. So this patent might relate to a more advanced embodiment for future machines.

Yes, Letsride; the inventor, Mr Michael Berthon-Jones (and his team, if he has one), should certainly be congratulated.

I'm surprised that he applied for the patent so long ago, as it's only (very) recently appeared on the market here. I know there's lots of R&D involved, but even so.

Anyway, I'm glad that it is, and I'm looking forward to (I hope) another good night's sleep tonight.

I achieved ZERO two nights in a row! This time I've also uploaded my oximetry data for the entire night that shows my oxygen levels were always between 91 and 99%. Since this appears to be my norm, I probably won't be posting my results in the future. As you can tell, I'm over the moon with this new machine!

Wow, Citation4444, that's wonderful news and I'm very happy for you.

What a terrific feeling it is to, in a way, get your life back to some form of normality.

My AHI reading last night wasn't quite as good as the previous night, but at 0.8, I'm certainly not complaining. I also had another good night's sleep, which is two in a row. That's better, and more than I've had in several months (since my last heart attack).

By the way, can you (or anyone else) please confirm that the S9 does not erase SD card data upon reinsertion? I've read some posts recently where others have said this has happened to them. After downloading SleepyHead yesterday, I want to look closely at my own readings, but not at the expense of losing all the data before my S.D. gets to see it. I always flick the locking switch on SD cards before putting them into my computer, but of course it must be unlocked again for insertion into the VPAP machine. Thanks.

I read my adapts card everyday and it has never erased anything.

Thanks squid13, I thought as much, but needed confirmation. It did seem rather unlikely to me.

Perhaps those concerned either accidentally erased their sd cards, or as someone else has suggested, Windows 8 might have added an extra file to the card, if it wasn't in the locked position in their computer.

I'm staying with Win 7 (I'm sick of constantly paying Microsoft a fortune!!!), so that's not an issue for me anyway.

BTW, I'm also a retired sailor (RAN).

I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and for what it's worth I never lock my card when I put it in the machine and have never had any problems. Just got a new laptop and it came with Windows 7, wouldn't touch 8 with a 10 foot pole. I retired in 1973 from the Navy and some days I miss it.
