I think Mike might be right on this! I notice the same effect! High leaks reported on data but few that I can recognize? Can anyone else shed some light here? The mask puts out a very stiff stream from the exhaust ports so I wonder if this is why it keeps reporting a big leak. I do not detect any leaks when I have it on, outside the exhaust ports

I'm taking a breather until I can get the nasal pillows in this mask to seal again. Last night, I had to take it off before I feel asleep, it was leaking so much. The pillows just wanted to keep popping out or leaking.
I KNOW I don't have this adjusted right. It's probably a great mask, but I'm not doing something correctly. It is like my old Breeze experience that I couldn't get to work for me, and now I really like it, a year later revisited.
So I'm going to step away for a day or so, give it some time to settle in, and then try again. I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, so I think it best for now to just walk away. BUT...I will be back again soon.
I'm very happy for all of those who are using it successfully.
(sorry, Tom!)

Lori, put it aside until someone can work with you. We have had the masks in our place for about a week and one of them has been cut in several ways to accommodate a very long or otherwise different shaped face. The chin holder can be removed and the mouth section can be enlarged and so on. probably less that 1% will need to toy with the trimmers, but we were shown what to do so it is available. One of the patients had what looked like over 3 inches between his lip and nose that even though we had fitted him long on the pillows it wasn't working. He had to wear it much higher and the mouth and chin we trimmed to accommodate his face.
Your pressure may show up lower and the c02 washout is higher. Overall we're getting excellent results but everone's face is different.
I'm a mouth breather, too , but if I took one it would be missed.
This is the best thread I have ever followed on a sleep disorder forum. Good luck to all of you in your journey back to a healthy night sleep.

Lori,
That's amazing! I decided to take a vacation from the Hybrid this morning, too. I had to switch back to my other mask at 2:30 this morning when my nares were hurting. Like you, I haven't given up. But I need a night or two of good sleep, and maybe some ideas from others trying this mask, before I try it again.

Tracy on TAS
The Talk About Sleep forum just posted to my link , Issac Zook, aka, Zookie.
Tracy (who's site it is, I think) just posted she has been wearing the Hybrid for 2 weeks and loves it. She said she has a high pressure, too. I was wondering why no one mentioned it on other forums and the person who's forum it is has been snug as a bug in this new thing for 2 whole weeks.

Guest,
I don't think I have very unique features, like that 3" gap between the lip and nose you spoke of, or anything that should cause this not to work except maybe my nares. I use the XL pillows on the Aura, but a medium on the Breeze...go figure. I just couldn't get the pillows to stay in place or stop leaking last night, so I just had to give up. I needed rest. It seems like I need more of an angle slant on the pillows, but I can't get that with the chin holder in place. I tried. The mouth piece seems to fit according to the way the video says it should. Has to be the nare shape I have.
Mousetater,
Sorry you had trouble, too. You were doing so well. But we have to just thank our lucky stars we have something else to fall back on that we know we'll get a good night's rest with. I know I am. And, like we both said, we're not giving up yet.

Lori, my wife has a suggestion about calling the manufacturer.
If it's the Innomed Technologies or in them you will probably get very customer service.
I know I'll be calling when my mask comes because we don't know if we need to change something on the new autopap and if so, how and what.

Could we please keep the extranious items to a minimum so others will not have to wade through a lot of off-topic posts to get specific info about the Hybrid Mask.
Possibly starting another thread will best serve these other areas of discussion and interest.
Best,
Tom
Your last three posts had no specific info about the hybrid.
If you are going to make such requests you should lead by example.
I am not going to engage you in a wasteful dialogue except to say that encouraging a fellow community member as well as others in dealing with the frustration of a new Hybrid mask, which is the focus of this thread ,seems to be on target.
If you think otherwise that is your perogative.

Is this the same Tracy of talkaboutsleep who supports the Resmed price increase and bashes other internet retailers?

Tracy Nasca is senior vice president of Talk About Sleep, a resource Internet site for people with sleep disordered breathing that also sells CPAPs. ResMed's new policy, she said, levels the playing field. Some Internet retailers sell products for less than she can buy them.
"We don't offer our retail store just to make a buck," she said. "Or mission is to provide education, information and support. That is the difference between my organization and people who inventory things in their basement and extra bedrooms and just sell on line."

I had earlier posted about this. I also hav noticed that the exhaust ports put out a strong flow (I have titrated 9 patients with the Hybrid so far and I have used it myself). Unless the pressure is over ~ 17 cm, the leak rate doesn't go above 1 l/s if you get a good seal. As long as your indices look good, it is only good because it provides for a better CO2 washout.
I remember reading your post on another thread that you are using the Swift nasal pillows. The flow through the exhaust ports on the Swift can be a lot lower because the volume of exhaled air collecting in the Swift reservoir is much less compared to the Hybrid or some other FF Mask.
