Full Face Mask A7030 Replacement Guideline
Is Medicare replacement guideline for full face mask A7030 one per three months or six months? Every where I check on line it is three months, my DME says six months. Did it change recently from three to six months? Thanks

3 months. Some dmes say 6 months because they will only replace when the headgear is due which is every 6 months. Less inventory to stock. You can get a new cushion monthly also.

Mine is not that old...only 15 months. I did replace the cushion at a year. There is nothing to wear out on most masks.palerider wrote:wow, I've been using my same FFM since 2009. still waiting for the cushion to wear out.charlesrshell wrote:Is Medicare replacement guideline for full face mask A7030 one per three months or six months? Most masks can be ordered without headgear.
If the DME refuses to get it for you, fire them and hire one who will.
Their job is NOT telling lies and withholding needed supplies.

It is not that I want to abuse the system, I just want to find the best mask. I wish there was a better way to try out different mask in a shorter period of time that wouldn't upset the insurance system and the DME folks. Six months is a long time to be stuck with a mask that you aren't happy with or maybe another mask is better than the one you have now.

I tried a LOT of masks, because I was not issued a "standard" face.
Many of those were from our sponsors, cpap.com.
New models often have free 30 day return insurance when ordered from them.
On the others, the cost appears to reflect the return rate.
Sometimes a forum member is willing to part with gently used (or new) masks for less than you might expect.
