Resmed Mirage Activa LT

Post by DJMun » Tue Jun 10, 2014 7:36 am

Currently use a Resmed Mirage Soft Gel mask and looking for a new one. In speaking with the Resmed representatives, they are recommending the Resmed Mirage Activa LT mask. I'm happy with my Soft Gel but wondering if anyone has any experience with the Activa LT and could make any recommendation.

Thanks

You can fit the Activa cushion in place of the SoftGel cushion so you don't need to replace the whole mask to try it. It's a good nasal mask. It is extremely quiet at least and the Activa cushion flexes with head movements during sleep, preventing leaks. I have good and bad results with nasal masks anyway, including with them digging in right under my nose causing pressure sores. So I generally stick with FFMs now. However when I have used the Activa, it has (usually) been ok. It is a bigger, bulkier mask however.

I would at least give it a try. If you like it, great. Otherwise, return the cushion and perhaps one of the newer, smaller profile nasal mask designs that have come out recently may be better, if your old mask and headgear are due to be trashed anyway.

I tried the Activa and did not like the springing action in it.

I am still waiting for someone to come up with a mouth lips-closer that I could attached to the frame of my Mirage Softgel mask. Something like this:

to go around the lips:

No need for tube #62

Been a happy Activa user for 10 years or so after trying a jillion others, and jumped on the LT when it came out. Finally have given up trying any others.

This has been my mask for few years after trying many. I change positions frequently and never have leaks.

I currently use both cushions. I find the SoftGel has almost no large leaks but is a bit heavy. The Activa LT is more comfortable but develops large leaks during the night. Another thing the SoftGel has going for it is I get it in large-wide which is not an option with the Activa. It gives me a bit more room around the base of the nose so no pressure at all. I usually swap between them every 3-4 days. Hope this helps.
