3 and 4 Year Old Posts???

Post by ups4 » Sun Jun 08, 2014 8:31 pm

I don't see an area to ask a question like this, but is it just me or are there a bunch of 3 to 4 year old post and polls showing up here at the top of the forum?
Maybe I have a setting wrong in the board preferences? Is there a way for me to "ignore" these for now at least so I can see the most current and pertinent posts?

Thanks.

Paul

Some believe there is a troll out there with way too much time mostly on the weekend,
and a possible grudge against the forum, cpap in general, or educated, assertive patients.
To avoid these annoying threads, look at the origin date after the name of the originator, and ignore them.
It is sad this is happening, but have faith that the helpful are still here, along with the curious,
the desperate, and the marginally confused (Lord bless them, too)

A plague of old post, you don't say, where?

We haven't seen anything like that here, except for the last three months. Limits should be able to be controlled from the software, but it's not happening yet. Jim

My advice pick and choose thepost you want to read, and don't post on the overripe ones, but that will put you in the 10% sane class, a very elite group and small. Jim

When someone "votes" in an old poll then the original thread is brought forward to the top of the main forum page.
We have a forum member who likes to some by on Sundays and gets his/her jollies (I guess) by voting in these old polls just to irritate people. When someone actually posts in the poll thread then that also will of course bring the thread forward.

There is a way to filter out the old threads as long as someone hasn't posted a recent comment.
You can edit your User Control Panel board preferences display options to omit those older threads from showing up as long as there isn't a recent comment.
I have changed mine here as an example. Or you can just do what I do...note the date and the fact it is a poll and I just ignore it.

LOL....I see chunkyfrog.
Are there not any moderators to keep the trolls in line?

I just thought maybe I changed a setting unknowingly or something

I'll just ignore them and get on with it.

It would be kind of funny if somebody bumps this thread every 3-4 years.

What a shame that someone enjoys and actually takes the time to bring those old threads back. Poor soul.

At least they're not running through an ICU somewhere unplugging life-support equipment--or are they?
Maybe that's what they do during the week . . .

Better they play in the street here, than be driving impared with a sleep or other deprived mind, where they could do more lasting damage to others. Jim

Think of it as keeping the drunks off the streets.

I think Pollock, is blowing way over a .08 this weekend.

Do you have to be logged in with your username to vote in a poll?

Yes. Don't click on them.

If it's an old topic that I might be interested in, I personally look at them. The state of issues and treatment hasn't changed so much in that time that I'm concerned about getting outdated advice.
