I have three nasal pillows masks, each of which I use until I get tired of it (a week to a month, usually), at which time I switch to one of the others. I started out with an Opus 360, which I think is my overall favorite. But after a while I picked up a Swift FX because everyone here kept going on and on about how great it was. I tried it, and found it worked well for me, too. Then I got an Aloha, again, because lots of people had good things to say about it.
One complaint I have about all of them is that the air exhausts in a fairly tight stream and when it blows on the pillow or edge of a blanket, the noise sometimes awakens me. I've wondered why the manufacturers haven't configured the exhaust air vent to diffuse the stream so it isn't so noisy.
Well, perhaps one has. I was over on our sponsor's site and noticed that Resmed has a new mask, the Air-Fit P10 https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... dgear.html that they say does just that. I haven't had a new mask in about 3 years, so I wonder if anyone who happens to have one might tell me whether it is less noisy.
Quoth the manufacturer: "The AirFit™ P10 frame features QuietAir™ woven-mesh vents. This technology quietly directs and diffuses exhaled air in multiple directions away from the user and bed partner. Also included with the frame is a highly flexible short tube. The short tube cannot be detached from the frame."
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Slarty - this should tell you everything you've ever wanted to know about the Airfit.
Yes, it's a very quiet mask and the best one I've tried thus far.

It's practically silent and you have to put your hand about an inch from the vent holes to even feel the air venting.Slartybartfast wrote:I wonder if anyone who happens to have one might tell me whether it is less noisy.
There's a big long AirFit P10 Nasal Pillow Review thread that I started back in January when they first came out and of course I just had to be one of the first to try it.
Only down side for some people is the one size fits all headgear. It's a bit snug for some people initially but it will stretch out a bit.
Well worth trying since you haven't tried anything new in a long time. I would be really surprised if you didn't like it.
I thought the Swift FX was fairly quiet compared to the other nasal pillow masks...the P10 is pretty much silent.
I have only heard one person think it was noisier and I still can't figure out why.
Let me see if I can find that old review thread if you are bored...17 pages last I saw I think
Oops. I see ems beat me to it.

Honestly, I can't compare it to anything else, but so far I like it! Of course, I'm a newbie and just got my machine yesterday, but I used this last night and for a nap today.,...
Hubby was concerned that the machine would interfere with him sleeping but he didn't hear a thing!

It is absolutely silent and the vent stream is extremely diffuse. If that's your main complaint about your other masks, you will love the P10.

Thanks for the feedback. Geez Louise, 17 pages of comments on it already. I guess I've been away for so long, it didn't occur to me to do a search before asking.
I think I'll order one and see how it goes. Can't have too many masks!

Re: Resmed Air-Fit Nasal Pillows mask?
I just got my new Airfit P10 last night. I have been using a Swift FX for over a year and swore nothing could beat it...but we have a contender! The Airfit P10 did not leak at all last night or blow on my grand daughter who likes to sleep with my wife and I. I can't wait to see what my AHI was.
