full chip on my bipap machine

Post by nmevan » Thu May 08, 2014 4:40 pm

My bipap machine does not seem to be recording info anymore…I am wondering if the chip is full?
And if so…can I replace it with some other chip…does it have to be a specific repironics chip...do I have to download the info off the chip in order to clear it (I have no way of doing that at the moment)…or can I purchase a generic chip for my machine?

thank you

evan

I would suspect the chip is fried; I think the machine should over-write old info, so it would never be completely full.
Get a new memory card.

Generic SD card will work. Doesn't have to be name brand.
However it would be unusual for a SD card to get full...it might be damaged somehow so the machine can't write to it...or it's possible that the machine itself has a problem with the writing to the SD card. What seems to be going on to lead you to believe no new data is going to the SD card?
A new cheap generic SD card would probably be the easiest and cheapest thing to try first.

I don't understand this statement. Why can't you download? Is it software problem or computer problem?
You can use your computer to reformat or just manually erase the SD card contents and then insert the SD card in the machine and it should write to the SD card the data that it has stored in its internal memory.

thanks

where it says "info" on the window on the top of my machine, there is an X over the icon of the chip and I am assuming that means that the machine is not collection info…also the info never changes when I look at the daily.

I can't download data off the chip because I am away from my home for several months and do not have access to the software.

The data on the machine's LCD display should change. What is it showing now that never changes?
Have you tried rebooting the machine? Unplug from electric source and wait a couple minutes and plug back in and see what happens tomorrow.
How long have you used this machine?

I don't know what that X means on the Info screen.

when I go to status…it says "SD card error" and has an X over the icon of the chip

the machine has been unplugged many times

I will purchase a generic SD card and see what happens…since, apparently, it does not need to be a specific respironic SD card

I apologize to those of you helpful souls who have taken the time to learn their equipment…I realize I am a dolt…thank you

Gottcha...probably a bad sector on the SD card.
A new card should fix the issue and if it doesn't then we can investigate further.
