Switch from nasal mask to Nuance type

Post by davo2110 » Fri Apr 25, 2014 8:27 am

Can anybody share their experiences in switching from a nasal type mask to the nostril type like the 'Nuance' from Phillips? I've never tried this type, and would like to try it-my old mask works, but I still seem to wake up numerous times and adjust it over my nose. Maybe this is common, and maybe the nostril type wouldn't make any difference. Opinions??? Thanks

I switched from the Wisp to the Nuance Pro in September of last year. I switched to the Airfit P10 in January.

The wisp leaked in my eyes and at the corners, seemed to require lots of adjustments, and pressed on my upper lip in a way I didn't like.

I would go for the Airfit P10.

The Nuance's gel pads are extremely comfortable on your nose. Unfortunately, I found that the pillows tended to slip out a bit. My wife also complained about the air venting on her while we slept. With my lax approach to cleaning, the headgear got nasty after a few months. It's got this sticky stuff to keep it from moving on your hair that eventually became really disgusting.

The P10's pillows are much firmer, and you may find they irritate your nose at first. For me at least, they solve all the other problems. They are completely stable in my nose and the venting system means I can sleep on my left side again.

I just got the Airfit P10 yesterday so I can't really say much about it. Used it last night. Very comfortable. I would look into the Swift FX as well. Very good setup.
