water in cpap hose
water in cpap hose
Last night everytime I inhaled I could hear water coming up the tubing. I did not overfill my humidifier. Why is this happening? I also think it blocked airflow a bit while I inhaled.

When you have time please add your equipment to your profile so we can see easily at a glance what you are using.

Did the water in the hose sound begin at the very beginning of the night or come on later during the night?
Had you washed the hose recently and maybe left a bit of water in it. It doesn't take but a little bit of water to create an awful noise.
You are using a PR System One 60 Series Auto cpap model 560?? Is that correct?
If so, the tank can't be overfilled like the S9 can and have water blown into the hose (did that once with my S9) so the water has to come from 2 sources...either left there inadvertently when washing the hose or condensation in the hose...rain out.
Are you using the heated hose? Or regular hose?

Re: water in cpap hose
could just be condensation forming and running down the tube, accumulating at the base. I believe it's referred to as "rain out". I often wake up with a facefull of water from it. I believe a heated hose will resolve most of the problem, and a short-term solution may be to turn down your humidity setting.
Re: water in cpap hose
If your machine is located LOWER than your mattress any water in the hose should run back to the humidifier. Try putting the machine on the floor...or...use a hose hanger. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/arden- ... ystem.html

Re: water in cpap hose
Most likely rainout. Try routing the hose under the covers to keep it warm. Body warmth will prevent moisture from condensing on the inside surfaces of a cold hose. Hug your hose. You'll get used to it and you'll sleep better.

I used to have this same problem. To the point that I would sometimes get woken up cause water was running down my nose. What a lovely way to get woken up. Anyway I fixed the problem with a hose cover. http://www.apriadirect.com/product?4133 ... ver-6-feet Like this one.
The water is condensation that builds up because of the temperature difference between the room and inside the hose. So this cover insulates the hose to greatly reduce condensation. Worked great for me, and was a cheap fix. Hope it fixes your problem too.
