New Bad Habit

Post by TPS316 » Wed Apr 09, 2014 5:29 pm

Recently I have been waking up in the middle of the night with my mouth open and air from the apap just blowing out my mouth. This is occurring a couple of times each night now. Never had this issue in the past. Any suggestions on hot to correct this. I use a nasal mask for comfort. Other masks I typically just throw off in the middle of the night without even knowing it.

Thanks

I use mouth night guard. Ask dentist,or find in ebay. 20.00 or so on.may be helpful. Chin advance 6mm is my best.

I was lucky with my Swift FX nasal pillows for a whole year before my mouth started opening and drying out my throat, not to mention my therapy pressure going out the window. I recently read a forum account where a person had the same problem and used a chinstrap for several months, then the mouth breathing went into remission and they were back on track with their nasal pillows. Not so with me... I went from the Swift FXs to the Wisp nasal mask to my current Quattro FX full face mask. I still miss those Swift FX pillows cuz they were minimal. Everybody is different because there are so many variables in the CPAP experience. Hope you find out you can go back to nasal pillows... I just love them but my jaw doesn't

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
