Help Fast Please - Need to tell Doctor What RX to write
Just heard back from my DME and a predicted they want a new script from my doctor. I would like to be able to tell her what to write very specifically - I have the DS260s and think the DS460s would be good - it has the data capabilites but it's not crazy over the top for me. Would I have her write the RX for that specific model and include the heated humidification, right? Help, please. I think I'm going to get one shot at fixing this brick situation and I want to get it right!

Yes all the exact model number, the range of pressures and "mask of patients choice"Scootergirl wrote:Just heard back from my DME and a predicted they want a new script from my doctor. Thank you - I've got the part number as DS460s and the humidifier as DS6T. anyone out there with more on these two - I'm hoping it's as quiet as the machine I have now.BlackSpinner wrote:Yes all the exact model number, the range of pressures and "mask of patients choice"Scootergirl wrote:Just heard back from my DME and a predicted they want a new script from my doctor. If it were me I would want nothing less than the 560 with heated hose humidifier.
I believe the auto PAP machines are more versatile and you may determine next month that that is what you need.
Better to have and not need than to need and not have.

The model 460 has some limited APAP available..30 days and I think can be reset 5 times...but still better to have full time APAP mode available if at all possible with the model 560.
Your humidifier...if it is a 60 series and you are getting another 60 series blower then there is no need for a new humidifier.
Often the humidifier is considered an up front purchase anyway.
The model 460 and 560 use the same humidifier as the 260 does.

Thanks Pugsy - the humidified was a purchase, so I think I'm stuck with that. I will talk to my doctor - I feel fortunate to be able to get this done - I hope - and I don't want to push it to the limit. I just want to know my data - and the 460 will do that.Pugsy wrote:The model 460 has some limited APAP available..30 days and I think can be reset 5 times...but still better to have full time APAP mode available if at all possible with the model 560.

It's not like the 460 model is a crap machine...it isn't. It will do what you want and then some.
Not everyone needs or does well with APAP mode anyway...and with the limited APAP capabilities..you could test it out if the need arises based on what the data shows.
If you are happy getting the 460 and they don't give you a bunch of hassle...that's all that matters.
I have a machine that doesn't do auto adjusting pressures...it's a back up machine and while it might not be totally ideal for me because I am one of those people who sometimes sees a wide change in pressures during the night...I can use the fixed pressure machine and get very decent therapy with it.
