bloating

Post by craftcove » Sun Mar 30, 2014 6:34 pm

I have been on cpap for just over a month. Had a few hiccups along the way, but finally seemed to get everything alright. Now all of a sudden I'm feeling badly bloated.

I do get acid reflux sometimes, and sometimes wind, but not like this. It flt like the cpap was pushing the air into my stomach.

I noticed quite a lot about this on this forum, but why is it just happening now? And what can I do about it?

Thanks for any help

Go up to the Search line and put in "aerophagia".......and start reading.
Somehow you're ingesting air, and there are a number of things that can be done about it.

If GERD is a known problem, try to get that under control.
Lower pressure.
Enable, change setting or disable exhale relief (EPR - ResMed machines or A/C-Flex - P/R machines).
Sleep on left side (keeps stomach opening on top).
Elevate the head of the bed.
Watch what you eat and drink (and when) in the evenings.
Get doctor to prescribe Bi-level machine.

Wow, that's a great response. Thanks. I'll look into these things.

I'm battling this one as well. Simethicone (Gas X) is my friend for now, until I get it under control. I'm finding angle if my head helps, but I haven't yet found a perfect solution.

When expelling all that air in the morning, what kind of flowers should you get for the spouse?
