Reviews of new AirFit P10 Resmed nasal pillow mask thread
Re: Reviews of new AirFit P10 Resmed nasal pillow mask thread
Just spent the first few nights with my Airfit P10.
It is great except for one small problem - the easy fit straps are too loose for me and do not keep the nasal pillows in tightly enough.
I have adjusted it within an inch of its life but can't get it any tighter
Anyone know what I can do about this?

If you can't move the straps so that it is tighter then all I can think of is maybe taking in the top strap just a little with a few stitches or something.cpap42 wrote:Just spent the first few nights with my Airfit P10.

I don't know if a wash in hot water would shrink things much if any. Might be worth a try.
You are the first to report this...most have had it the other way...a bit snug and have to stretch things out a bit.
Even myself with my small head found it a bit snug first couple of nights.

I placed it with the size letter 'M' showing so assumed that was the correct way. Just confirming that there is only 1 size of strap isn''t there?

PEER PRESSURE...
At the suggestion of my DME, I agreed to try the AirFit P10. Given I had no problems with the Swift LX, and in fact, was quite happy with it, I thought to myself: "Self, although the Swift is GREAT, maybe this will be beyond GREAT!!" Tried it for one night and quickly went back to the Swift. It didn't feel snug, it moved around too easily, too much leakage and it was sliding around.
I called the DME and said, "my mistake, can I get nasal pillows for Swift given I am not going to use the AirFit, or is it too soon?" She agreed to dig up some medium nasal pillows for me, and sent them promptly.
Here is the PEER PRESSURE part - after reading the last 2-3 dozen posts I thought I must be crazy. Almost everyone loves the new AirFit, so what's wrong with me? I pulled it out of the draw I had stached-it in and realized I hadn't separated the two straps. I had them both behind my neck and of course it didn't feel secure or snug. So now after reading the PROPER way to wear the head gear, I am going in for attempt # 2. Given the preconceived notion that I now have, based on reading your replies, it has to be better, right?
I love the idea of trading the extra nasal pillows that each of us can't use. Therefore, I am using Medium nasal pillows for my AirFit P10, does anyone want to exchange their unused MEDIUM for my size SMALL or LARGE since I am not using them?

Yes...as far as we can tell there is no difference between the "for Her" package and the regular in terms of headgear sizing.cpap42 wrote:Just confirming that there is only 1 size of strap isn''t there?
We have measured both and they seem identical in size.
Unsure what you mean here...M on the nasal pillows? I don't have any letters on the headgear that I can see.cpap42 wrote:I placed it with the size letter 'M' showing so assumed that was the correct way
The nasal pillow size letter ....needs to be touching the area between upper lip and nostrils.
The nasal pillows ...when looking down on them getting ready to put them on need to be in a / \ shape with the inner cones nearly touching at the top.
If you see an W...it's upside down.

As far as I can see then the only way to make it tighter is to sew a fold into the straps - so will report back once I have tried this
Thanks for your help
Re: Reviews of new AirFit P10 Resmed nasal pillow mask thread
Has anyone heard if they are going to come out with adjustable headgear? I don't want to lose out on the sale, free shipping and free return insurance. But, my luck...I would buy it and then they would release improved headgear.

CPAP42: My straps are also really loose. I just got the P10s on Sunday and have worn them for 2 days. Maybe the newer ones recently off the shelf have more "give" to the straps than the older ones that were first released? Who knows. Despite the looseness, I don't see any major mask leaks. So for now, I'm not going to worry about it and just enjoy the comfyness. But if they become a problem, I may have to also sew a fold. Update me on how your's turns out, will ya?

I have a medium and a small pillows for the airfit. I'd like to trade for large. Please PM if interested.

Try tossing the fabric of the headgear in the washing machine and dryer, it will tighten it up.WindyCityEsq wrote:CPAP42: My straps are also really loose. Re: Reviews of new AirFit P10 Resmed nasal pillow mask thread
Aparently I have the perfect size head for the headgear. It was comfortable for me the first night I used it. The only problem I have is that the straps seem to slide a bit while I sleep because it slips on my long, straight hair. I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue for someone with short hair. I think I just need to play around with the strap placement. I do not like anything on my face and I can barely tell this mask is on. So glad I decided to try it!

I am so jealous of all the great reviews for the AirFit P10, but happy for all those you can use it. I so wanted to use this mask but I could not stop the leaks and my AHI went up to 7>.
I also like the Swift FX but my AHI's go up too. I used it last night and my AHI went up to 7.62. With the Wisp my AHI's are <2

Re: Reviews of new AirFit P10 Resmed nasal pillow mask thread
There's no "perfect" mask out there that is going to work 100% of the time with 100% of the population of users.
We all have different faces, needs and preferences. What works well for one person may not work well for others for any number of reasons. I have said this often in the past.
Some seem to work well for the majority of users and then there are a few masks that not many users like...but as long as the person using it likes it...that's all that matters.
My next experiment when I am in the mood to experiment...not there yet as there have been some things going on that keeps me from being up to it...is going to be the "mask of last resort"...just to try it because I want to feel what the pressure is like all over my face.
In the recent donated box of goodies...there was the FitLife in a size small. Not something I would ever spend money on because I know I would never want to use it all the time..or even part of the time but since it was donated...I will give it a try one of these days soon.

Re: Reviews of new AirFit P10 Resmed nasal pillow mask thread
Do you use the 'pony tail' method? It goes like this: Put hair in pony tail, put on mask, pull the pony tail between the headgear straps, then remove pony tail band. This makes the mask hold better & your hair will thank you in the morning. I learned this trick from someone here on the forum about a year ago. One of the best tips I've learned.Ladyflower wrote:Aparently I have the perfect size head for the headgear. It was comfortable for me the first night I used it.
