Well this is the first group I have joined. Probably should have done this a year ago as most of this CPAP lingo I am still new to. I have been on an ASV machine for a little over a year now. Apparently I have both kinds of apnea pretty bad. I have the resmed 36007 machine. Now i have problems with it reading on the display my apneas per night. It goes great for months then just one night it will stop displaying. The hours slept are displayed just a goose egg in the apnea column. Then like a month latter it starts displaying again. Talked to the medical supply place, where I seriously spent and arm and a leg to purchase this machine because my insurance does not pay squat, and after much debate they replaced it with a new one. Everything worked fine for a few months and now the same thing is happening. The apneas are reading at zero. I know this can not be accurate. During my 2 sleep tests (which is a whole different story) I was like a 130. Anyone else ever have this sort of problem? Thanks for your feedback. Any information on this or the "hoser world" which I am now apparently apart of for the rest of my life is greatly appreciated.
Also the resmed software they use to download off my SD card would be awesome. I get a copy of my report when I go in to get it downloaded, but would love to see what else is really on this little machine. Thanks.
Aaron

Re: ASV machine Problems & Software Request
First thing, you should re-title your post to include the words "software request" and "problems." That will attract the attention of knowledgeable folks on this board. Also, please list your equipment using text mode. There is a link on how to do it at the bottom of this post.
Second, do you have a power filter inline with your machine. It sounds as if you are occasionally getting power spikes or noise in your power that is affecting your machine.
What did the DME folks say was the problem when they replace the first machine? What do they say now?

Re: ASV machine problem
Hi and thanks for the tips. Hopefully I got the changes made you suggested.
There is no power filter on this unit. It has just the plug and transformer box that came with the unit. The folks at the medical supply store basically acted like it was not a problem. I complained and figured is was quite a problem. I mean for what I had to pay out of pocket for this thing which was quite a hardship not to mention the fact it was "life or death" as the doctor put it, this machine should work properly. They finally contacted the rep and got back to me after a few weeks and decided first they had to do a hard reboot on the machine. I took it in and they reset all my settings and said this should work. Everything read fine for a week or two then the same thing happened. It stopped displaying AHI. I called again and waited for a week or two for a response. Finally they said they will swap it out for a new machine. I did that and everything has been great for the last 3 months and now for the last 2 weeks or so no AHI registered. The report off the SD card on my last download I had done showed zero also. Basically I figure I am doing something wrong or there needs to be some sort of software update for these machines. Just at a lost. The supply people are truly just a pain and the doctor doesnt even seem worried when I asked him at my last appointment. He had me do an o2 saturation test overnight and said everything looks great. So maybe its just me, but there is no way I can go from 1 to 2 events and hour for months, then to zero for weeks or even moths at a time and then all of a sudden the machine reads 4 to 5 and hour for months then back to zero again. It is just frustrating. Thanks

Re: ASV machine problem
And thanks Pugsy for the message. I will downlaod that software and see how that works for me. Also I will try to unplug the machine and see if that is the fix like you suggested. I do appreciate it. The supply people and supposed rep of the product seem to me like they have never heard of this problem before. I know I cant be the first right?

Re: ASV machine problem
The power filter is something you should purchase to protect your machine from power fluctuations.
I use a UPS battery backup on mine. It won't keep you running fir long but will filter our any momentary line faults.
I knew Pugsy would be watching - she always does.

Re: ASV machine problem
Hi and welcome BigA!
I'm a bit confused by your post because I could see you meaning two things... Is the display not showing anything (like when an LCD display burns out), or do you mean your AHI displays but keeps showing 0.0?
If it's the problem with AHI of 0.0 every night, I had the same problem with the Resmed ASV. If I would unplug the machine and then plug it back in, the already-recorded stats still wouldn't be appear, but the next night would record data correctly. Also, it is possible to get a night with 0 apneas, but if it stays like that for days or weeks, the machine probably just needs to be reset. It's kind of a pain, but at least it's an easy fix. Hopefully that works for you too!

Re: ASV machine problem
Hi Shortcake and thanks. Sorry for the confusion. The LCD display is fine it just shows a reading of zero. Another fine person PM'd and said the same thing. Unplug and plug back in. Hopefully this does the trick for me also. I am going to try this tonight and see if I get a reading. I mean if it is that simple, heck I can live with that. Dont know why they didnt say to do that the many times I have talked to them about this issue at the supply store. But if it works I can be sure to pass this info on to others as I am now learning I am not the only frustrated ASV user. Thanks again.

Re: ASV machine problem
It is possible to have an AHI of 0.0....I had one last night.
It would be unusual for me to have 0.0 for a week though...as much as I would like to think I did that.
So if I consistently saw 0.0 then I would do the reboot thing. It won't change the old data but might affect the new data if that is what is going on.
