Resmed S9 Filter
Resmed S9 Filter
My S9 fell off the nightstand last night and it kept running. Today I have nose and lung irritation and I found that the filter fell off. So in spite of looking like it doesn't do much - it apparently really does.

Re: Resmed S9 Filter
You can also purchase disposable inline filters which I use since I live in a dusty desert. They are just an extra protection again dust and dirt. I also have four cats so I have cat hair in the air no matter how much I vacuum.

Re: Resmed S9 Filter
The filter is there to primarily protect the inside of the machine. Without the filter you are breathing the same air you breathe during the day without the CPAP. I don't believe the filter had anything to do with your nose/lung irritation.newpapper wrote:My S9 fell off the nightstand last night and it kept running. sleeplessinaz - Are you using the this inline bacteria filter?sleeplessinaz wrote:You can also purchase disposable inline filters which I use since I live in a dusty desert. If so, does it work with humidified air? I read elsewhere that moisture can clog it. Thanks!

Re: Resmed S9 Filter
I do, it works but i has been increasing pressure about 1.5 cmH2O. Have used it about 2 months before I switched filter. Have humidification at 2 and heating hose 5. Feels better in the lungs when using the filter.newpapper wrote:sleeplessinaz - Are you using the this inline bacteria filter?sleeplessinaz wrote:You can also purchase disposable inline filters which I use since I live in a dusty desert. Re: Resmed S9 Filter
Thanks Lazer.
I ordered 5 filters. I'll set the humidification on 2. That's a good idea to increase the pressure to compensate for the pressure drop across the filter. I agree that it definitely feels better to breathe clean air.

Re: Resmed S9 Filter
Hi Newpapper,
Yes that is the exact filter I am using. It is not affected by the humidity - I have mine set at 4.5 but I am not using a climate line hose- just a plain regular hose. It works great! Glad to see you ordered some. I order the pack of five to six to save a bit of money since I pay out of pocket.

Hi sleeplessinaz. Thanks for the good information. I'm looking forward to trying out a filter when they arrive.
