Question about downloading data to Sleepyhead
The first time I used the SD card, and plugged it into the Sleepyhead software, it worked.
But when I try to do the same thing for last night's data, it doesn't see it.
When I put the SD card into the machine, it says "reading SD card". But when I then put it in the card reader, it says it isn't seeing anything. Is there something I need to do on the cpap machine each time before I put the card in?
Thanks!

Re: Question about downloading data to Sleepyhead
No, not on the CPAP. It should say reading data. Then when you put it in your computer and click import, you need to point to which drive the SD Card is in. I suspect you are not telling sleepyhead where the drive with the SD card is located. One thing I've noticed that I don't like, is that apparently sleepyhead doesn't store the data on your computer. It read the card but you can pull up any historical data without the card in the computer.

Thanks Too tall.
I am telling Sleepyhead the correct drive to pull the data from, but the message "No new data detected" keeps coming up.

Re: Question about downloading data to Sleepyhead
Now just to be sure.....I don't have to keep the SD card in there during the night, right?
Re: Question about downloading data to Sleepyhead
Sure it does. No need to have SD card in computer. All the data is stored in a folder created in MyDocuments.Too tall wrote:One thing I've noticed that I don't like, is that apparently sleepyhead doesn't store the data on your computer. So it worked for one night and not another.
Did you forget and leave the SD card in the computer and not put it back in the S9? The SD card MUST be in the S9 all night for you to get any data from SleepyHead for that night.
Now ResScan will give you summary data but SleepyHead won't if the SD card wasn't in the S9.
If you are for sure the card was in the S9 and correctly...you might try creating a new location for it again as sometimes SH forgets where to look.
The S9 stores only summary usage data in its internal memory. When you put a missing SD card back in the S9 the S9 will write that summary data to the SD card but it isn't enough files for SleepyHead to do any calculations so it will read it as no new data.
Now ResScan will pull the summary data from the SD card but SH won't.
I have a few big "no usage" nights with my S9 when I forgot to put the SD card back in the S9 but ResScan shows usage but won't show detailed graphs.

Re: Question about downloading data to Sleepyhead
Well dang...........I didn't have the card in the machine. I didn't think it was necessary. But now I know!
Thanks Pugsy. Sure was driving me crazy for awhile, trying to find that data!
Thanks again.

Re: Question about downloading data to Sleepyhead
I think with your old S8 machine the smart card didn't have to be in the machine as it stored more detailed data in its internal memory but not with the S9.
It's funny...the old Respironics machines had to have the smart card in the machine during the night to get any detailed data but now the new PR S1 machines store almost all the detailed data for quite some time.
The two brands flip flopped.
At least you don't have to wonder anymore why you can't get any data with SleepyHead.
Now if you had ResScan you could still see the AHI and 95% leak number but still wouldn't have the graphs. SleepyHead needs all the files to do its calculations so without the detailed data files SleepyHead will think you didn't use the machine last night.
Not the end of the world as for compliance purposes the DME will be using ResScan anyway. So the usage is still there for them to see.
It is annoying though. Been there myself and almost always it happens on a night were I kinda wanted to see the detailed graphs. Happened a couple of weeks ago and I so wanted to see the leak graph because my 95% leak number was only 4 L/min and for me that is exceptionally good. I almost always have at least one segment of some sort of leak large enough to push that 95% number up.

Re: Question about downloading data to Sleepyhead
This is weird........this time, when I put the card in the machine, it asked me if I wanted to re-write the data. I misunderstood and said "yes"........and realized it wiped the card clean. Oh well.....I guess I didn't lose anything. And the info that the doc's office will need is still in the machine, right?
I wonder if it asked me that, because I used a different card the last attempt to get the data, thinking something was wrong with the first card.
I'm not smart enough for this!! haha
Yeah, I really wanted to see last night's numbers too. I was hoping to see the inappropriate pulsing. I guess I can try to make it happen again tonight.
Now just to make sure I understand.......the machine doesn't need the card in all the time for the doc to eventually see the data that he needs, right? I guess I'll just make a habit of leaving the card in all the time.
Do you think taking it in and out every day will wear the port out?
I'm finding that this S9 machine isn't very arthritis friendly. The buttons are hard for me to press, and the card is hard to get out. And then there's the issue of my arthritic brain.
Anyhow.......thanks again for your help Pugsy!!

Re: Question about downloading data to Sleepyhead
You can set SmartStart to "On" in the clinical menu and the machine will come on automatically when it senses a couple of breaths and it will turn off pretty quickly when you remove the mask....no need to push any buttons on the S9.
The SD card...push it gently and it will pop out a little to make it a little easier to grab hold of...maybe use some tweezers if fingers still have trouble...same thing in the computer. If you push gently the SD card will pop out just a little.
Most doctors won't care about anything but hours of use and overall AHI....and if they want detailed graphs it won't matter if you have a few nights where there aren't any detailed graphs.
DMEs only care about hours of use and hours of use are available even without a SD card at all.
The S9 is strict with the way it expects to see a SD card and if for some reason the file structure is not exactly what it expects to see then the S9 will spit the SD card out and prompt you to rewrite...and yes that means the card gets erased.
Not a big deal...you have data in the software and the usage/compliance stuff is saved on the machine and will go right back on the SD card.
Don't ask me why the S9 wanted to spit out the SD card because we don't always know.
Macs on occasion will write a little file to the SD card and the S9 sees that file and will spit it out.
Recently it's been reported to have happened to Windows users also.
18 months of using a S9 machine and it never has happened to me though and I don't lock the card before putting it in my computer or anything.

Well thanks, I'm going to look harder. I have not been able to find the folder. I found SleepyHeadData but it's got two files and they are empty? Can you give me the folder name?

Re: Question about downloading data to Sleepyhead
Okay.......here's another question..........With my S8, I would just download the card (only time the card was in the machine) and take it into my doc's for my yearly required visit. They would read it there.
But now that I'm using Sleepyhead, and downloading it every day.........will I have to now take the machine in to them? \
Sorry I'm so slow.
Thanks.

Re: Question about downloading data to Sleepyhead
When you first log in you are on yesterday's download. In the upper left corner where it says file click. Then import data and last nights data will download. A box will pop up wanting to know where the data is stored Click usual and your newest data will download.

Re: Question about downloading data to Sleepyhead
Oh this is so frustrating.
I left the SD card in the machine lats night. I'm trying to import the data to the same drive as earlier, and it keeps saying there's a problem. So instead of the "usual" place, I tried clicking on a new place and now it's asking me if I want to format the card. I don't know what that means, and I haven't had to do it before.
Maybe I'm just not smart enough to deal with this. I think once I get the bugs out, I'll be okay. I'm not crying Uncle yet.

Re: Question about downloading data to Sleepyhead
what is asking you to format the SD card? The computer and a little pop up box that asks what you want to do with the SD card?
It gives several choices??? If so, close that box and proceed with your navigation to the drive letter where the SD card is sitting.

Oh...when you see a doctor all you need is the SD card. Everything that the doctor needs will be on the SD card and no need at all to take machine to doctor.
