On 2nd thought, maybe I won't do the surgery since summer is around the corner. LOL!

Maybe this should be part of the consent form that you sign before this surgery. You will be subjected to horrific smells you have never experienced in your life.

Are you saying you can no longer smell due to turbinate reduction?

I had to have my nose operated before I could experience the benefits of CPAP as my nose so blocked I couldn't breath it. I was referred to ent dr and the gave turbinate reduction to clear my clogged up air ways, gee. Breathing thru my nose for first was a amazing feeling to me.

Now I use the CPAP with nasal pillows and I like it. But the operation cost me sense of smell, but that's small price to pay to breath properly again

I am sorry you lost your sense of smell but am happy to hear you felt the operation was worth it.

That was listed as one of the risks when I signed the consent form for when I thought I was going to have surgery. I don't have any currently so obviously, I am not worried about that risk.

The problem with using the CPAP before you have had a chance to properly "seal" is not only reopening the surgical areas but mainly infection. I would be quite leery of using it until the full set time period is up. Sinus infections are notable for being incredibly difficult to treat due to lack of blood vessels in the area. Also, the space is quite vast and depending on the areas cut, it could spread even more.

This is easy for me to say since I am getting good sleep. I'm sorry, though. I know it is difficult to go back to suffocating and its effect on your life can be beyond dramatic.

Still, I highly caution you against sleeping with your CPAP until you have healed and sealed.
