cpap use 1 month question
Hello y'all. I been using cpap for little over a month. I have noticed that breathing in deep now gives me a weird feeling in chest/lungs. Only way to explain it is like the feeling you get when you been swimming long time. No cough, no fever, just that feeling when I breathe in deep. Anyone else experience this sensation?
Thanking you in advance!

I had this feeling for the first week or two, and then it went away. I think it's just our lungs and chest wall muscles adapting.

I agree with icipher as I went through the same thing during the first couple of weeks.
Depending on your severity and how long you have been dealing with your untreated apnea, your body probably learned to breathe very differently, maybe shallowly like I did, and just adapted to whatever method that would work to bring oxygen in and keep you alive while you struggled to sleep.
Just as with a new exercise or type of physical activity or sport, there is always mental and physical adjustments that we can go through as we become accustomed to it. Hopefully in a short time your muscles will strengthen and you will be able to relax and just breathe like LSAT said, working together with the machine... like a dance partner.
Good luck and good sleep

I've noticed that kind of sensation the last week or so. I'm about a month in CPAP use. I feel like sometimes I can't take a deep breath even when I'm not on the machine and sometimes I feel like someone is sitting on my chest.

You may want to check with your doctor about your issues with your lungs. I have never had that feeling so maybe you need to go get checked out. Just saying,
