Thanks guys, I'll try some sinus relief. It does tend to get dried out and that can contribute to the issue dramatically. I did get some sleep last night, but not much with the xPAP, which is where I ultimately need to get back to. It's crazy I am having these issues now, after being so committed to the therapy for so long. Oh well, the mind is a funny thing.

Taking advise and wearing the system while watching TV. etc. Every little bit helps I think. Still tired........

Maybe you need to watch one of those Norwegian tv shows - 11 hours of sitting on a ferry or train with soothing music.....

I am downloading it now. It's something I'd like to watch while drifting in and out of sleep. It's hard to find a channel that doesn't keep breaking in with a loud commercial or infomercial etc. Thanks!

Finally made it to the doc, twice. They did an EKG and some blood tests-all fine. One night along the way I was finally able to go to sleep without the panic attack. Slowly getting back to normal. Anti-panic drugs (like Xanax) did nothing. A sleeping pill (like Ambien) seems to help a little. Fairly tired still but over the worst of it. Thanks for all who helped.

It seems that you are having a psychological reaction more than a physical one. That first night must have been enough to scare the wits out of you. You will probably continue to return to the old M-Series until you are able to overcome this fear. If you were to wake up a few times because of a lack of air I would possibly point toward there being a mechanical problem, but even putting the mask on creates anxiety. You have to have faith that the new machine will work for you. Take a few deep breathes, and let go of the one time things didn't go perfectly.

I'm totally new to this myself, so advice is offered with a grain of salt. Have you tried essential oils? A little drop or two of something that has a soothing scent to you placed on a cotton ball near where your filters go into your machine? People often underestimate the power smells have on us.

I have been through what u are going through now. It is horrible(panic attacks). My Dr lined me out on Xanax and Prozac. During the time I was getting used to the mask this med made it sooo much easier, that was 4 yeard ago, off meds and sleep like a baby now. I wish u well...
