ADVICE ON BUYING REPLACEMENT CPAP

Post by randezhnee » Mon Feb 10, 2014 7:51 am

My husband has been using a REMstar auto c-flex since 2006. This morning it started with the error code 87. Ive only found minimal info regarding this error code and it doesn't look good. I think we will have to replace his machine asap. I did a lot of research before we purchased the REMstar and he was very happy with it. What I'm looking for is suggestions for a replacement auto cpap. He has the heated humidifier and will want it on the new system too. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

I would get the Resmed S9 Autoset with humidifier. It is top-of-the-line... and data capable.

thank you very much for your suggestion! His old remstar has done well by him - I want to make sure he's happy with the replacement.

If staying within the Respironics brand the PR System One 60 Series Auto CPAP model 560 is the latest version of what he has.

see above for features...heated hose available for humidifier...great machine.

The ResMed equivalent is the S9 AutoSet...heated hose available and all that.

Minor pros and cons with either brand but none are deal breakers or makers.

Things a changed a lot since the Remstar Auto CFlex Legacy model tank was the top of the line.

thank you pugsy for your suggestions. He was happy with the remstar so buying another Respironics system may be a good idea.
Last machine was bought through a DME through our insurance, I'm seriously considering purchasing the replacement unit directly from cpap.com. we've bought all his supplies (masks, filters etc) though the website, it may be the time to take the leap and buy the unit through them too.
thank you!
