It is Respironics WISP
I am with WISP for exactly one week now. Was with Swift FX medium before for 6 years since the original Swift and have tried all the Swifts models.
I have tried practically all Resmed and Respironics Nasal and nasal pillow masks through barter and buying used to find the "dream mask". The only one I would like to try now is the Nano and Air Fit. I have also tried Fischer Paykell nasal masks (not bad but some pain) and Hybrid (useless!). At this moment WISP is the mask for me! (Thanks to Nan for sending me one)
My 7 nights with WISP:
This is the first time that a mask did not leave a footprint on my face. The Swift have been erratic and leaking frequently and its cushion start loosing its grip after 2-3 months. My nose feel the pain at the point of contact despite the use of Lanolin.
POSITIVE:
1. no pain
2. no footprint all all, leave no damage to my face
3. very good leak number, average zero leak
4. AHI - first night was pretty high 5.8 but after that mostly less than 2 and several time less than 1. Avg 2
Negative
I was a bit reluctant to use this mask in the beginning due to its massive strap, In the end it is very comfy and once setup you do not really feel anything

What size of the mask do you use? I think you're also in Canada, and we've got extra small and medium for the Wisp...

I use the WISP, it was my third mask in a week. Third time was the charm!! I love this nasal mask. Very comfy. I also changed from a chin strap to taping mouth. Surgical paper tape, keeps mouth shut without jaw pain caused by chin strap.
Thanking you in advance!

Thanks for the update. It helps remind or reinforce to us out in the field which mask are working out in the "real world." I have currently been leaning towards the Eson mask but have put out the Wisp in the past. I may start fitting more pts with it again.

As a total fan of the silicone frame, I wonder how the fabric vs. silicone frames compare in popularity.

I love the silicone frame. I figured the fabric one would stretch out and become useless. I like the Wisp so far, it's comfy. Not a fan of the massive headgear lol!

My husband has a *massive* preference for the fabric frame over the silicone. Just couldn't stand it - said it cut into his cheekbones (his cheekbones are very prominent, so I could totally see that). Had lines there after one night and everything. The fabric frame has been much better. Haven't really seen any stretching after a month, but that's not too terribly long yet.

I use the Small/Medium cushion - I do not uise Large and Petit. The petiti is definitely out of my range.teleute wrote:What size of the mask do you use? I think you're also in Canada, and we've got extra small and medium for the Wisp...
If you need the Large/Petit - we can always barter

Yes, the headgear look massive. However it is comfy and I can even wear my mask in the dark every single day without any problem, just by feeling around the headgear, just like Swift FX.

cpapernewbie - PM'd you re: trade.
Re: It is Respironics WISP
I've been using a wisp for about a week now, first mask, first night was around AHI 3, hit a 0.29 last night after tightening up the straps a bit. No complaints about the unit... A little condensation in the mask but I live in a basement so it's pretty cold - I guess I need a heated tube.
Only issue I have is that my teeth are really clenching when I use it, but that's hardly the fault of the mask. I'm a little concerned that after only using the machine for a week that I'm already <1 AHI... Makes me wonder if it's that effective, or if I don't actually need it at all. Logs are only showing 1-2 events of each type. Got a titration in a week, so I guess that'll help. I'll be anxious to see how the arousals are now, it was 103 at my last PSG with only 16 AHI.

Re: It is Respironics WISP
I've been using the Wisp with the fabric frame since mid-November and the frame has not stretched or lost it's shape at all. Still the same as when I started but it's only been 2 months. I do agree that the headgear is massive but I still love the Wisp.sleeplessinaz wrote: I figured the fabric one would stretch out and become useless. I like the Wisp so far, it's comfy.
