How Many CPAP Machines Do You Want To Own?
How Many CPAP Machines Do You Want To Own?
How about a fun little poll?
To some extent, all of us are curious about the new technology. The size of CPAP's has been shrinking, and more comfort features are being incorperated into the machines.

It seems that most people would like to have a backup machine in case your primary machine fails.
At cpap.com one of biggest selling items is the Puritan Bennett 420g. It appears to be the second cpap of choice. For $299. 00 you can't go wrong. It has auto alittude compensation, auto leak compensation, and can run off of a DC sourse all at 1.6 lbs. Perfect for travel.
We have sold many of these and the failure rate is very low. Some people wonder if such a small machine can do the job of their huge 7 year old cpap. I remember when Toyota and Honda first came out, the same was said about them. Times are a changing.
Here is the 420g from our website. Take a look.

rested gal,
Can you really hear me snickering all the way down there? Must be that the cold air up here lets the sound carry. HA!
It's great that you want 3. Or 4, or 5 machines to try out and educate the rest of us. I'll settle for just having a good back-up in case I have trouble with my PB.
Ted is definately right though. At $299 for the PB420G it's well worth while to own a second machine for back-up or travel.

I would like a back up
I would like to have at least a back-up, but I would really love to have one that I can keep the mask on at night, so I can get a good nights sleep
I think I would like to have a secound one just in case my breaks down but the hospital where I got mine told me that if it does break down that I can get a loaner when I bring mine in to be fixed. But one just for travel would be nice to if I could ever come up with the $$$ for a much needed vacation lol.
Heh, mine did break down -- my own fault, I was taking it all apart and the humidifier (I have a separate one) tipped upside down and poured all its water inside the CPAP machine itself. Ulp! It was a gonner. And it was just before Christmas! But my CPAP guy gave me a loner machine and I'm getting my fixed machine back tonight (whew!)MegansMum wrote:I think I would like to have a secound one just in case my breaks down but the hospital where I got mine told me that if it does break down that I can get a loaner when I bring mine in to be fixed. As for travel, well, I bought mine with the intention of taking it travelling with me. There's no way I could afford a second machine.

Re: How Many CPAP Machines Do You Want To Own?
Only one is needed given the following reasons:
1. The technology is changing and improving since you will at one point have an older machine which you can use as a back up. We are all likely to end up with more than we need.
2. They are fairly portable and getting smaller so you can take them from location to location easily. On airplanes since they are medical equipment they don't count against your count for carry one.
3. If one breaks down, I am sure your local supplier would love to get a new one to you soon and do billing.

I see. However, it wasn't at the bottom of the list. I will check the dates in the future.
Thanks for letting me know.

Position in the list is an indicator of topic activity, not the existence of a new comment. Maybe you've missed some of the comments lately about old posts being resurrected. Look over in the right hand column for the last post date. If it's not recent then one of two things has happened. Someone responded to a poll without commenting. That will bring the topic back up to the top. Or, someone added a spam response, which has been deleted. The topic still ends up near the top of the list.sleepy1235 wrote:I see. Someone is up to no good and actively bringing old posts to the top. Just ignore them. It's a pain. There is seldom good reason to bring an old post back up from the grave.
