1st time APAP user choosing between S8 and Respironics

Never gonna happen. Besides, you can see at any point during the day that I've been logged into this site all friggin day I don't log off. What am I doing. Running to another agent's computer and posting from there AND my desk too.

Thanks for the the excellent perspective on my original question. I've turned off the C-Flex on my machine and I'm going to try it for several days and see if I miss it.

After one night I noticed that I don't have my Activa Mirage mask feeling like it is inflating and deflating with every breath. I only had time to sleep for 4 hours so I can't judge yet, but after the first 10 minutes I didn't feel like I missed anything with C-Flex (although I used the ramp up to help me out). If it continues like this, I'll try the S8 and see what happens. The worst case is that if I'm wrong, I can use it as a travel machine and get the Remstar Auto with C-Flex. It would be expensive to go this route and hopefully I won't have to buy two machines.

I would try that but I've found that EPR just isn't necessary with auto cpap. The pressure already fluctuates. It's not fixed. Or even high. So, I'm already getting breath by breath therapy. But yeah, between 9 and 10 pressure (which is what I'm at now with the Aptiva. Was 13 on CPAP, and 15 to 17 on APAP with Swift.) it just doesn't even seem necessary. And that's just me.

And for anyone out there who thinks their pressure is too high on an S8, try using Mirage Aptiva as your mask over Swift. You just might be in for a hell of a surprise.
