I had no trouble using it last week when I signed up. Payment process also went smoothly although I did have to call the insurance company when they weren't as busy.SuddenlyWornOut45 wrote:Well, dumbass obama finally had the healthcare.gov site fixed. You can log on now and get your plan.

And it is too late to sign up for coverage on 1/1/14. If you sign up now, your coverage will be effective 2/1.

Re: obamacare website finally fixed
It seems to depend on what state your in and which company is writing the policy, Some will allow until Jan 10 or even Jan 15 to enroll and pay for coverage starting Jan 1.
I don't know how all that works but it was on the news last night.

I just assumed that 12/23 was the deadline and made sure I got signed up in time. I am relieved it is all done.

Guys, and gals, don't be taken in. The website is a spoof and an example of how low the threshold is that is needed to humor the OP. I let myself be suckered into checking it out.

They had the fix all planned out, the ordered a case of WD-40 from Amazon, but due to U.P.S. not hiring enough workers the shipment is behind, maybe one of the cans will leak, speeding up the process. Jim

Yeah, there are a lot better Obamacare spoof web sites out there, this one is particularly stupid. Gives the OP a chance to call the president more insulting names, though, so that's worthwhile in itself.idamtnboy wrote:Guys, and gals, don't be taken in. This is absurd.
Insurance is a contract between you and the insurance company. You are not insured until you have paid the first Monty's premiums.
The President does not have the power to change centuries of contract law.
He can ask anything he want's from the insurance companies but they have no obligation to pay your health care bills if you haven't paid your premium.

Re: obamacare website finally fixed
Let's clear up a couple of things. First, in order for coverage to start on Jan you had to have enrolled by midnight Dec 24 and make the premium payment by Jan 1, EXCEPT some insurance companies will accept the first month's premium as late as Jan 15 but coverage still starts on Jan 1. Coverage and claims payment are not the same. Many insurance companies will begin coverage days before payment is made, but they won't pay a claim until payment is made. The claim can be for an incident preceding the time of payment.Joe Snooze wrote:"It seems to depend on what state your in and which company is writing the policy, Some will allow until Jan 10 or even Jan 15 to enroll and pay for coverage starting Jan 1."

Regarding "centuries of contract law." Contracts can be, and have been, constructed in a million different ways. The only firm requirements are that it must be made between at least two parties and there must be an exchange of value. The two parts of the exchange almost always occur at separate times. Beyond that the only restriction that has existed for centuries is that transactions for real property must be in writing. Verbal agreements are seldom enforceable in real property transactions, and then only as an adjunct to a written agreement.

Due to not wanting to wake up my neighbors, I have not yet listened to the videos. But anyone who calls Obamacare social engineering and is anti vaccination tells you everything you need to know about his agenda.
He also says people will be subject forced med which is a kernel of truth. So far, the only people subject to forced med are folks who are under mental health commitment orders which has been a state wide issue in several states for years and has not been a federal objective.
It is true that doctors are subject to "evidence based medicine" which many times calls for drugs to treat problems like diabetes, etc. However, that was occurring way before Obamacare. But while a doctor could fire me as a patient for refusing to take the med due to "non compliance" being forced to take it is not going to happen.
Regarding Dr. Blaylock and his being a fan of alternative medicine, I would love to hear his suggestions for me regarding alternative therapies since I have so far "failed" pap therapy. Oh, wait a minute, there aren't any. And I say this as a person who is not opposed to alternative medicine.
Anyway, thanks to "evil and dangerous" Obamacare, I now have the option to consult an ENT in case there are nasal obstruction issues interfering with my success. And yes, I have tried the alternative remedies to no avail.
