Connector question/Quattro and Respironics CPAP

Post by MikeA » Thu Dec 26, 2013 12:55 pm

Hi, I am a new CPAP user. I was sent a Phillips Respironics System One, with a heated humidifier and tubing (think it is HE 30). The tubing connects to a Fisher and Paykel Simplus full mask. I am finding I really don't like that mask very much as it is hard to get a good seal.

When I went through my sleep study, they gave me the Mirage Quattro full face mask made by ResMed used in the study. I like this mask much better, but the connector on the mask is not compatible with the HE 30 hose on the Phillips CPAP machine. Is there any kind of hose adapter available for purchase?

Thanks!

It should be compatible--the connectors are universal. Try again.

I agree...I never heard of different hoses for different masks

There must be some kind of adapter needed. The diameter of the tube end connection and mask is exactly the same, and both the mask and hose ends are male connections.

It is possible that you have disconnected the swivel from the mask frame and not the tubing from the swivel.
if this is the mask you are using, then the CPAP hose rubber end disconnects from the gray part of the mask just below the word Simplus marked on the mask shown which is a standard diameter fitting.

Thanks for the responses. I was indeed wrong. The hose had an insert that once removed, connected to the Quattro.

That question crops up a few times a year... JDS74 set you right pretty quick. Count yourself lucky with an easy fix We love it when that happens.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
