I have used a Mirage Quattro full face mask for about seven years and have been happy with it. About a year and a half ago I was asked if I wanted to participate a Beta trial group for a Respironics full face mask.
The first prototype sent out was pretty bad - the geometry of the mask to forehead support was way off - and I sent it back in a couple of weeks. The next version was much better and about seven iterations later it became a super mask. Actually the last several iterations were minor tweaks - experiments with cushion surfaces and the like. The trial period from first to last mask was about a year.
I liked the mask so well that I hated to send it back last May when the trial ended. It requires less tension on the headgear to achieve a low leakage rate than the Quattro and is very comfortable.
For participation in the trial they offered the participants a free mask when it went into production.
I got my new mask last Monday and immediately started using it. It is as good as I remembered and I now a new most favorite mask choice.
It is an Resmed Amara but doesn't seem to have a version number on it or the paperwork. The picture of the one on their site looks just like the one I have so it must be in full production.
Note that I have no association with Respironics other than participating in the beta trial and received nothing and will receive nothing from them other than the mask at the end of the trial.

Re: New Amara mask version
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth
