Need help adjusting to the wisp

Post by CzechCzar » Sat Dec 07, 2013 12:46 pm

So, I recently bought a philips wisp mask because of my beard. I had been using an F&P ESON mask combined with a philips system one, with moderately good results. The only problem was, it would leak a little bit whenever I turned onto my side.

I have spent two nights with the wisp, now, with terrible results. The exhalation seems much more difficult, and I wake up in the morning with dry mouth. This tells me that it is so difficult to exhale through my nose, I am giving up in my sleep and exhaling through my mouth.

I am aware that both the wisp and the system one are philips masks, and there is a setting in the system one to adjust the pressure based on the mask being used. When using a wisp in conjunction with a system one, is there some setting i should change? Otherwise I am going to have to return the wisp!

There is the System One Resistance Control setting but that isn't going to fix your problem with the Wisp.
I found the Wisp caused me so much congestion that I only lasted 90 minutes with it.
You might look at the ResMed Swift FX Nano...very similar in the cushion but I had good success with it..didn't cause any congestion (from the pressure of the mask on my nose). It just fits a little differently I guess. Less pressure on the area of my nose where if it gets pressure I get congested.

I worked about a month with the wisp. Never could get it to stop leaking. Went back to the Swift FX. I have tried several different mask and keep coming back to the FX. I do want to try the Nano. But i won't be getting rid of the FX.
