Error Code E49
Error Code E49
My CPAP machine, a F & P 254 auto CPAP, keeps showing error code E49. This problem started when I lost my USB Smartstick. I lost it after I brought it to the doctor. I ordered another SmartStick. Then I used Performance Maximizer software to set the card so that my computer associates it with me. I put the Smartstick in the machine. The machine now works. However, it frequently shows "E49." What is causing this problem?

I got this off of this thread viewtopic/t41904/FampP-machine--Error-Codes.html and part way down it says According to F&P Rep they have said that error 49 or E49 is a faulty smart card port or an error has been made when the machine has been saving data onto the smart card with either a smart card missing or patient has removed the smart card while info was being saved. Hope this helps.

I called Fisher & Paykel at (1 (800) 446-3908. I spoke to a person named Catherine (sp). She said the error code E49 meant that there was something physically wrong with the SmartStick. I had just bought it after losing the original after bringing it to the doctor's office for him to read. I phoned the DME which had provided me the defective SmartStick and they said they would send me a new Smartstick.
