Just wondering if this is a viable option for testing? I would like to try a home test if it makes any sense to do so.
i found this one here http://getsleeptest.com/
Waste of time and money? if a home test works is this a good place or can you recommend a better one?
1. Do they work?
2. What's a good one?
Thanks for your input, new here and testing the waters....
Has anybody done this test?
Re: Has anybody done this test?
They show that they use the Resmed Apnea link and I think it is supposed to be good. ResMed is known for making good quality products of whatever they make.
$200...fair price. I have seen others offer similar testing for around $300.
Bear in mind it has limitations as with any home study and I have heard of people having negative home study results to have indeed had OSA proved in a sleep lab study.
I would say if it says you have OSA..then you probably do but if it says you don't...you may or may not have it.
I don't see any EEG leads being used to monitor sleep activity...that appears to be a limitation but in general...hey it might answer a lot of questions.
The finger lead is for pulse oximetery data and some people are able to diagnosis just based on oxygen levels...but again sometimes an inclusive test doesn't mean no OSA at all because some people don't desat all that much.

Re: Has anybody done this test?
I have done this, but here in Sweden it goes through the county councils, the public health system. This is the only test I have done and received after a apap with pressure 4-20. After I found cpaptalk.com I have checked the data and changed to 8.5 to 13 and now sleeps much better.
The data below is the only one I am told by my sleep test:
""Patient Data
The patient states that he quenches 22:20 drop off efter15 minutes, sleeping normally. Total recording time of 8 hours 30 minutes. Epworth sleepiness core provides 17 / 24p. BMI is calculated to 31.6.
Registration Data
Light / moderate snoring occurs periodically during the night. Total scoras 331 respiratory disorders, 276 apneas and hypopneas 55. The patient lay-Ron back throughout registration. The longest apnéen lasts 39.7 seconds, average length of 19.0 seconds. AHI is estimated at 39.8.
Medelsaturation 95%. The lowest oxygen saturation 81%. Medeldesaturation 6.5%. ODI is estimated at 21.5.""
