I have suffered from insomnia for many years and recently realized that the more I used my iPad in bed the later I stayed up, I did some research online and learned about the blue light that is emitted from all digital screens. If you use any device, a phone, tablet, computer before bed you tricking your brain into thinking it should remain awake by suppressing melatonin production, the hormone that puts you to sleep. There isn't a lot of talk about this subject but I think its important to know if your sleep isn't the best to begin with the addition of blue light could make things worse. I've try blue light screens on my iPad and they seem to do a good job of blocking the blue light, you can read about a sleepshield dot com

blue light from ipad?
Re: blue light from ipad?
Wonder I ever sleep, I run my 42 inch Led all night every nite, it's 4 feet from the bed, I can't tell any difference. I wake up every few hours, move, get a ship of water and adjust mask go back sleeping. About the szme as having the t.v. off, but I sleep better with it on. Jim

It is much more likely that using your iPad at night in bed, conditions you to stay awake longer and longer.
Insomnia problems are made worse if you do not have a pretty clear sleep hygiene schedule and stick to it.
Solving the insomnia monster means bed is for sleeping. Not reading, not watching TV, not writing letters, etc.

omg - I've totally missed this all the times I must've seen it. No reading? How will I ever change that 50 year old habit?Solving the insomnia monster means bed is for sleeping. Not reading...
This is the scariest thing I've seen yet about xpap. Is it the light? The habit? The distraction? My Kindle is weeping already....
