Bad Breath

Post by ajnitti » Sun Jun 18, 2006 7:56 am

Happy Father's Day To All Dad's

I have been getting severe bad breath and an after taste in my mouth when I use the humidifier with distilled water. Has anyone had any problems.

I get bad breath too, but I just chauked it up as "stale breath" from keeping my mouth closed for so long.

How do you know it's from the humidifier and distilled water?

My dentist says gum problems cause bad breath in people and animals alike. Peridonal problems. Worth checking on anyway and the air blowing by can't help.

Is it possible you've been mouth-breathing? A dry mouth can cause bad breath.

I take time to floss, brush my teeth and gums (outside and in) and gargle & "hold" w/a strong mouthwash before using my apap. T

Hi ajnitti,

What I do is put a third to half a garlic clove right in the heated humidifier. Presto! No more bad breath. At least that I know of.

scrape the very back of your tongue with a spoon, gargle with Listerine, see your dentist to rule out early stages of periodontal disease.
