Respironics Software

Post by Chevie » Fri Nov 01, 2013 6:02 am

First timer here. I have a friend helping me. He has a nice ResMed machine. My doctor only prescribes Respironics and it was delivered yesterday.

My friend said I got top of the line machine. He said I should ask where to get the factory software to download. Will you help me?

PM Pugsy. She'll get you set up with the software you need.

Or if you want to try Sleepy Head, it will work with your machine too.

Is there no link to Respironics software? Seems simple enough.

What is Sleepy Head?

Chevie,

- As far as I know Respironics does not provide their software free. You have to pay about $99 plus S&H.

- Here is a claimed free download for Respironics - http://freewaredatabase.net/encoreviewe ... -download/ Be very cautious or get some advice from others on the board because I don't know if this site can be trusted.

- As already mentioned, SleepyHead software is another possibility. Here is the link for a free download - http://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyhead/?source=dlp . Again, I have not tried it myself and caution you about the site. Check it out thoroughly before downloading.

- I would send you a copy of Respironics, but my copy is a ten-year old bootleg copy of the professional version. It is very clunky and I don't know whether it works with the new machines. (Soon I will get a new machine and new software - probably ResMed.)

Sorry you are having so much trouble. IMO Respironics would improve their marketing by offering the software free with a machine purchase.

Respironics has gone to an online format for their software. You can sign up at http://www.sleepmapper.com/. If you are not comfortable with posting your stuff on line you can, like other posters have said use Sleepy Head or get Encore from someone here.

Check your Private Messages. Encore Basic really works well but so does Sleepyhead. You can get it from a link on "Pugsy's" page.

Thanks to all who answered and thanks to Pugsy for the info on her profile page. All great stuff. I want to get started this weekend.

For those of you who use SleepMapper, what do you think of security and privacy? Should I register with a fake name and an email address that I only use for privacy? I do see they ask for machine serial number so they could track me through the DME if they wanted to.

I am not a conspiracy theorist, but an unknown entity having access to the hours I sleep is not the best idea IMO.
