Want an old Respironics Tank?

Post by Babette » Fri Oct 04, 2013 3:14 pm

I suddenly realized I have 5 CPAP machines in my house. Now, even granted that a backup machine is always welcome, this is excessive.

I think I'll part with one of my old Respironics tanks. You oldies know how great these machines are. I will not send this to a newbie who has no clue what a great thing this is.

If you're interested, I'll go dig it out, clean it up, and check the hours on it and send you that info before we finalize the deal.

I'll send it to you for the cost of shipping plus something mysterious and wonderful that you will send me in return. I leave that object up to you. Mix CD's/Flash drives are always welcome.

This comes from a pet-free, smoke-free home. And the one I'm thinking of got light use in my house anyway - it was strictly backup and only got used now and again when I was loaning out my Auto to friends who couldn't afford a sleep study. It was originally purchased from a DME who used it mainly as a demo/loaner. Guy wanted to clean out his old stock inventory and I got a deal on it from him.

Hit me up!
B.

Deal pending.

However, I will entertain bidding wars.

You must offer something Strange and Interesting to be considered.

LOL,

The old Remstar before the Series M. I think it's a Plus. I know it's not an Auto.

Babette,
I forgot I was supposed to make an offer of something of dubious value, so this is what I could find. You may pick one:

DVD entitled "Gothic Bellydance"

Guitar strings for steel stringed acoustic guitar

Small wood handled monkey wrench (makes good paperweight)

DVD drive for desktop computer (internal)

I may come up with more...

You are really generous, not many people would part with their best machine. As you can tell Den and I love "Tanks"! I hope whoever gets it appreciates it. Jim

Well, I have TWO. And having 5 cpaps in the house does seem a bit much.

Dammit. I've apparently killed of the particular brain cells that used to know this.

When you plug in your Remstar Plus, there's a number that appears on the screen. It is clearly not the ramp, flex, HH or pressure. Is that number the number of hours on the machine?

Stupid manual is not very clear on that point...

Many thanks to those of you who have NOT killed off that particular brain cell.

When you plug it in, the firmware number will show first, then the blower hours and then the user hours.

Den, don't tease me like that. Your wife will wake up and find you missing some morning.

Okay, so on the PRO 2, it clearly states that the number I'm looking at is Hours, so I'm gonna assume that number on the Plus is hours too.

Banging my head on the desk for the idiot decision to take the Pro 2 up to the now ex BF's house and leave it there and use it every weekend. Did NOT need the data. Did NOT need the flex. And I ran up the hours on the better machine. Idiot.

Thank you kindly, Den. And did I give you directions to my house yet?

Respironics REMstar (M Series):
To get into the clinician's setup mode in a REMstar M Series CPAP machine or a BiPAP M Series CPAP machine follow these steps:

1. unplug the power cord from the back of the CPAP machine
2. hold down both the left and right arrow keys while simultaneously plugging in the power supply
3. once the device beeps twice, you can release the buttons

When you plug it in, the firmware number will show first, then the blower hours and then the user hours.

After you hear the two beeps, you'll see the word setup in the lower right corner of the LCD screen. When you select setup you'll be in the clinician's mode where you can adjust every feature of the CPAP machine, including the pressure setting. Below is the list of settings you can cycle through on a REMstar Plus M Series:

* CPAP Pressure (only in provider setup mode)
* Altitude
* Fine Pressure Adjustment (only in provider setup mode)
* C-Flex Setting
* Ramp Time
* Ramp Start Pressure
* Mask Alert
* Auto Off
* Patient Reminder (only in provider setup mode)

5. The ideal humidity setting depends on room temperature and humidity. Initially, a setting of 2 is recommended. You can adjust this setting at any time. Press and hold the humidifier button on the CPAP device until the humidifier screen appears. Press the humidifier or ramp buttons to change the setting.
IMPORTANT! The humidifier is turned on whenever the settings menu is entered. It will turn off in 20 minutes if the air flow is not turned on.

IMPORTANT! When the air flow is turned off, the humidifier will automatically shut off. If you restart the air flow, and heated humidification is desired, you must press the humidifier button to reactivate the humidifier.

It's been a lot of years since I've been to western Washington. (we're safe)
I'm actually the (unpaid) "house elf" in my own home.

All you have to do is watch the numbers as the appear in the LCD screen. If there's a number like "2.5" (I don't know what they were in the Plus machines, but that's what the Pro 2s would show) then that would be the firmware number. Then there would be a number with more digits and a dot with another number.......NNNN . N That would be the blower hours and then the final (similar) number will be the user hours and will show as long as it's plugged in. When it's powered on, then the pressure setting number will show.

Hey I'm a little late on this, but I want to tell you all that James, aka Jamiswolf, is a GREAT PERSON TO DO BUSINESS WITH!

Not only did he respond promptly to all PM's, he paid the demanded shipping costs within minutes of me emailing said costs to him, AND I swear he put his fabulous trade item in the mail to me before I put his tank in the mail to him!

Great guy, great trader, don't hesitate with Jamiswolf.

Cheers,
B.
