so frustrated!!!!

Post by toryg51 » Tue Sep 24, 2013 12:57 pm

I know I'm not terribly computer savvy, but I didn't think I was this idiotic. I absolutely CANNOT figure out how to post my SH data. Uploaded photobucket, cannot get screen shot to work....AAARGH. Sorry, had a terrible night last night and found out this morning on my way to work that I have out of town friends coming at 4. I would hope that those of you equally sleep deprived folks know what kind of terror having overnight guests in a house is like - I HAVE TO CLEAN as opposed to spending non-work time sleeping (or not). So came home from work early, hoping to post data quickly since data looks like I had a great night, but to my way of thinking it was the worst ever. WAAH! Now I"m behind on crisis cleaning and still no posting happening.....

Can somebody PM me and help?

very unhappy tory.

Hi Tory,
I don't personally use PhotoBucket, but once an image is available the rest is the same.

I found this: http://support.photobucket.com/entries/ ... and-Videos. So it looks like you should be able to select an image you've uploaded and PhotoBucket can tell you the correct value to use:
IMG code: Use this to embed your photo or video on bulletin boards and forums that do not allow you to input HTML coding. Your media will display at full size on the page you create.

On that page they show you what the screen looks like and where the IMG code is.

So now that you have an IMG code, what do you do with it? When you are crafting a message you should see a small toolbar right above the text area where you type. It has buttons for: SpellCheck, B (bold), I (italic), U (underline), Quote, Code, List, List=,[*], Img, URL, and font options. I'm not going to go over them all, just the IMG one. If you click that you'll see it adds [img][/img] and your cursor is between the two square-bracketed entries. That's where you want to post your image. So for instance if I use [img]http://support.photobucket.com/attachme ... =123.png[/img] it'll produce (this is the image from the photobucket help page):

Now a bunch of people are going to ask me how I got the square-bracket commands to show in the text instead of being interpreted. I learned that from a different forum: You surround the brackets with bold commands, like this from the above text:

Code: Select all

So for instance if I use [img]http://support.photobucket.com/attachments/token/fzca5oek7gybuow/?name=123.png[/img] it'll produce (this is the image from the photobucket help page)

Ok - I'll ignore your name if you ignore mine when I finally post. I could just call you "kitten" in honor of the picture that posted.

When I posted the address between the two img thingys all I got was the words/link. This is becoming a lot of work. aargh. thank you for trying to help!!!
