Is the Respironics TOTAL FACE MASK new? Here is information:

At first glance it looks hilarious, but could minimize leaks. I wonder if there are any issues with the eyes being in a pressure bubble?
Total face mask?
Total face mask?
If I had known I would have lived this long, I would have taken better care of myself.
Tom,
I don't think that's anything new. I believe I remember seeing it sometime last year.
They're ALL probably "hilarious" when you think about it

That has been around for awhile and is funny looking. I think it would have a tendency to leak due to all the hills and valleys you find in facial structure. Just the regular full face masks that cover a nose and mouth are hard enough to keep from leaking, thanks to all those mole skins. Pressure exerted on the eyes would be a concern to me as well. Anyone with claustrophobia would likely run as far away from this mask as possible.
The TOTAL is used a lot in the Hospital Emergency rooms because it fits a lot of faces with one size -fits many..
It seals around the parameter of the face so it actually leaks less!
Since it is a clear shell around the face , it is less claustrophobic than some
fullface masks.
It's appearance tends to turn off patients but it works
when other masks wont. go figure!

I tried this mask a few months back for a few nights and it is much more comfortable than all the other masks I tried and did not leak "until" I turned on my side, this would have been the mask for me if I could sleep on my back.
There is a note

saying not for side sleepers on the product info page.
I think I could have used a heat gun to warm the plastic shield enough to pull the sides in closer together and I don't think it would have leaked at all after that but I wasn't sure enough that I was willing to eat the cost so I traded it in for the swift.
