Liberty or Innomed Hybrid you want to part with?

Post by biker » Sat Sep 14, 2013 1:42 pm

I have to wear a FFM because I cannot stop the air escaping my mouth at my high pressures. The usual FFM's cause bad pressure sores on my nose.

So, I've been trying this Fitlife for a couple weeks, but it is driving me crazy.

Does anyone have a Liberty or an Innomed Hybrid they would part with so I could try my last hope? I've spent a lot on this lately and I cannot afford another new mask at this time.

I wore the Hybrid by Innomed for 3 years and still go back when I have a bad cold. If you spend a little time trying on all the cushions and pillow sets they give you, you should get a nice fit. There are some great tips here to help. Always fit the chin first and the pillows last each time you put it on. I made the mistake once of cutting the attachment between the pillows and had to use a little rubberband to adjust them together on my first set, but some people like a little rubberband loose around the pillows for extra support, anyway. I think the chin cushion adds extra stability that I didn't get with Resmed's version. Resmed's version pillow pushes up against my nostrils, too, but everyone likes something different. They really are two entirely different masks like no two full face masks are alike. They are not alike in fit or comfort. Also, if you have a very wide mouth and need to widen even the large mouth cushion (very unlikely), you can cut the chin cushion in the center under your chin and the little split will accommodate a thick long beard or super wide mouth. Another tip is that once I ordered my Hybrid and received the Liberty instead. Make sure you are clear and order The Hybrid ( the real Hybrid vs a hybrid) or you might get a Liberty Mask.

Biker, there is a difference with each brand, the Resmed only comes with the size that you have ordered, while the Innomed - respcare comes with 3 sizes of mouth cushion and 3 sizes of nasal pillow. You will have much more choice when you use the Innomed Hybrid.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

I have spent the last hour fruitlessly trying to find the large and medium cushions and pillows that came with my Hybrid.
(I KNOW they are in there somewhere)
I used the heck out of the small silicone parts, but the frame and headgear (old style) are good.
I will send the frame and headgear to whoever can use them--free. PM me.
(Edit: sending to Biker. still looking for the guy-size silicone parts)
