CPAP.COM vs. a DME

Post by pikov22 » Fri Sep 06, 2013 10:12 am

Does CPAP.COM accept Medicare or other insurance?

If not, is there a compelling reason to buy from them instead of paying substantially less at a DME?

often they are cheaper than a DME and much nicer to deal with.

I found my in-network deductible was outrageous, and even when I met it,
the time and energy required to get those ninnies to do their job was not good for my physical or mental well-being.
Their inventory is extremely limited, if I need something NOW, or something they "can't get" or
"have to order it--in a month or so", I know where I can get what I really need, and the DME hears about it, too!
I'm not terribly well-off, but frugal, and this is a priority for me.

This is how I basically feel. In the beginning I didn't want any hassles or anything to get in the way of me being successful. CPAP.com is so much easier to deal with, Yet now that I've met my out-of-pocket maximums for the year I will contact Apree to get some supplies. I don't know if I will even ask for Tap Pap cushions, Since they don't seem to like to carry The latest and greatest.

I really wish cpap.com was in network for Medicare, but you can't always get what you want. (cue music)
Since I am now on Medicare, and my part B supplement covers my deductible and co-pays, I will be using local DME's.
Of course, I know of (and are on speaking terms with) several within 10 miles, so whoever has what I need, when I need it.
--you get the picture.
