Does anyone us a Contec CMS 50-F Oximeter with Sleepyhead ?

Post by woodenbuick » Sat Jan 14, 2012 8:13 am

I am looking at buying a recording Pulse OX meter and I want to be able to use it with Sleepyhead on Mac.

Does anyone use the CMS 50- F as opposed to the CMS 50 E ? Does it integrate in with Sleepyhead ?

I can move data from my Windows computer to my Mac if need be.

Thanks

I haven't had any luck uploading to Sleephead thru the cable with mine but was able to import the Spor file that I had uploaded into SPO review.
I'm still not sure if there is a way to view the O2 on the Daily tab. I haven't spent alot of time on it though.
If the oximetry is still on a separate tab than the Daily cpap graphs, I don't really gain much over using ResScan and SPO Review.

SleepyHead works best with 50D+ but I'm about to upgrade, so hopefully I'll get 50F support working soon..

If you start your Oximeter session at the same time as your CPAP session, it will be easier to sync..

If you set the time in the oximetry tab after loading the .spoR file, you can click the save button, and it will show in the daily page, and sync with CPAP data.

If you get the time wrong, you can open again and edit it by clicking on the oximeter session ID down the bottom of the details tab in Daily view.

Mark

Did you ever get the upgrade? I'm thinking about buying one and am tossing up whether to go the 50D+ or the 50F.

If you have used both, I was just wondering which you prefer?

My thoughts are:

1. 50D+ known to work well with Sleepyhead (big pro). Although if you are happy with the results of the rewrite for other members of the 50X then this may not be such a big issue.
2. 50F looks like it might be easier to sleep with and less likely to fall off.
3. 50D+ uses AAA rather than lithium, much easier to recharge and replace. I suspect replacing the lithium one would be a pain.
4. 50F seems to have an internal clock that people suggests makes it easier to use.

Anyone used both?

Hello Everyone - so this is a bit of an old thread - but I was looking for an update on the use of the oximeter - if you were going to get one today that works with sleepyhead what would it be? I wanted one as I am curious to see how my levels are at home to compare to the report that the dr has - besides it looks like yet another cool thing to learn about. thanks ! Paul

I have a new CMS-50F pulse oximeter that I will sell you for $110 shipped in US. These normally go for $130 or higher. I bought 2, one for wife, one for me, but she never wore hers. PM with questions.

One important thing to note is that there are two different models that both carry the CMS-50F name. I noticed the one being produced today no longer states that it is compatible with sleepyhead. The older model that is a white plastic is what most people refer to here with that name.

My reference was the ad in the pulseoxstore.com for the CMS-50F and past thread here.
