2nd Night good for me not so much for wife

Post by spotteddog » Sat Aug 24, 2013 5:27 pm

So 1st night I managed 4.5 hours and woke up feeling better than I had for some time. Night #2 and I woke up and the wife was already up. Found out I had tossed and turned all night she got maybe 2 hours sleep. So I pulled the memory card to see what it looked like on that end and by the data I had a much better night and about 9.5 hours on the machine not bad for night 2. But for some reason my PLMD flared up I guess. The sleep doc said during the study when my apnea was under control I was very still, but I guess that was only 2 nights that they got to see me in action so to speak.

Can anybody look these screenshots over and see if I'm missing anything here?

Thanks

Your post is of interest to me because I was recently diagnosed with restless leg syndrome and in my sleep study i had many periodic limb movements. can i ask, did you know you had PLMD before you were diagnosed with sleep apnea, and do you think it was a one time thing or do you think your PLMD is more pronounced since you got on CPAP?

Some doctors must think that PLMD decreases with good apnea treatment as my previous doc wanted to send me back to the sleep lab for a pressure change when I complained of RLS/PLMD symptoms. Is that kind of what your doc implied?

I was not aware of the PLMD prior to the 2 results visit with the sleep Dr. That is when he said that when my Apnea is controlled I "don't move" were his words. My wife smiled at that so she hadn't told me I move around a lot either. I'm going to try to do a little test because I suspect when my blood sugars are high my PLMD is much worse. This might explain when I go to bed with higher than usual blood sugar I sleep very restless and will usually say I feel like I was awake all night, as in I can tell you most of the events that happen during the night. (noises etc.)

AHH 3rd night good for both but nose getting a bit sore had to take off the Opus 360 after just over 6 hours. Not sore like having a cold and blowing nose all the time and not even sore to press on must just be from the steady pressure and not being used to it.

You may have the straps too tight. This is a common error.

Some people like "lanisoh"(?), a lanolin based cream found in the baby section used by breast feeding women, to protect their nose and add a bit of "glue". Do not use anything with petroleum products in it as it will degrade the silicone.
