replacement buttons
replacement buttons
I have a ResMed S8 that I love. Unfortunately the Power button that turns the unit on and off quit working and the the button fell out while cleaning. Does anyone know where to get/order a new button.
Re: replacement buttons
You might check with these guys to see if they know where to get a new button.

Or maybe one of the forum members who has been through this problem knows how to find one or fix it.

Re: replacement buttons
you say the button fell out while cleaning this might not work but if you still have the button try this
I just had the same type of problem I was unable to turn it on or off so I did a little research on remote control repair and found you can buy kits
like this
http://www.amazon.com/MG-Chemicals-8339 ... repair+kit
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ORIGINAL-OEM-CA ... 416ec8f19d
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Key-pad-repair- ... 3384c7c356
But I am to cheap to do that,
unplug you unit
So I took my s8 apart 4 torx screws you will ned a set of torx drivers after removing the 4 screws the the blue filter cover pull the top of the unit off it will be hard to remove but keep at it slow and easy making sure all 4 screws are not still attached
after removing the top take a qtip and some rubbing alcohol clean the gold contacts on the circuit board
then i took a old rca directv remote apart using a xacto knife I cut 2 of the little rubber matalic contacts off of the remote
I cut the 2 matalic contact off of the power button then supper glued them on the bottom of the power button
works like a charm.
I have seen people here looking for software and card readers you can down load the software for free from resmed
all you have to do is register then download you can get it here

Re: replacement buttons
I've encountered this a number of times.
You could try to disassemble and replace the moulded panel that holds those buttons, but most people opt to turn the smartstart on.
This way you bypass the buttons altogether, course it depends on your machine type. Hopefully, it does have that feature.
Good luck!
