Please enter your equipment in the control panel. Why do you have to wait till Monday to lower your minimal pressure? Sorry for all the questions, but the lower end of the autoset mode is for comfort. The upper end is more important because that is the limit the machine will ramp up to treat an apnea.

Sheriff
Everything about this is new to me, including replying to your questions. I have entered the equipment but don't know where to find the software details. My CPAP is set on Auto set from 4 - 20. I felt I needed to wait until Monday because my prescribed pressure was 11 and since using Auto set the pressure has gone up to 12.2. Obviously I needed 12.2 to treat my apnoeas but have been suffering from excess gas in the upper gastric region so need some advise, so felt I needed to wait for office hours to contact my therapist.
Is the 12.2 your 95 percentile? The 4 - 20 pressure setting is very close to the minimal (4) and the maximum (20) of the machine, so I'm not sure what you want to increase. When you start out at night the pressure should be 4 (unless you are using the ramp feature). The autoset will increase to a pressure required to treat an apnea. Different apneas can be treated at different pressures. Once the apnea is treated, the pressure will reduce and hang around a reduced pressure until another apnea incident occurs. It may be reduced down to 4 or as in most cases a little higher.
I don't understand what the 95 percentile is. What I am interested in is how I can stop air entering my digestive system. I thought changing the maximum pressure on the auto set to a lower setting may help but now I'm very unsure as to whether it will help. Do you know how to stop this happening?

The Advance has been around longer. I tried the Advance and couldn't get it off fast enough. The Elan came out in June 2012, I think.

My Elan came today and I spent most of the afternoon watching the video and putting on and taking off the mask. So far, it seems much, much, much better (to me) than the Advance. Tonight will be my first night on it, so we'll see how it goes. I have a feeling this is going to be a keeper.

This mask would be ideal for men... much easier with little or no hair... will have to deal with that tonight.

Good luck with it.

I almost press the "buy and pay" button for the Elan until I saw this.

This thread has not been updated for a while. May I know how's everybody now? I'm a guy but not that big size guy (168cm only). Would the Elan too big for me?

I love my élan! I use the small cushion that I ordered separately. I find it comfortable and it works well for me
I also have used a night guard for twelve years.

The Elan kit comes with a regular cushion (attached) and a large cushion in the box.
Cpap.com offers 30 day free return insurance.
My eyes are very sensitive to the tiny bit of airflow at the top of the mask,
and I hope to use my Elan again, once I find a soft eye cover that fits me.

I appreciate the problems people are having with leaks into the eyes. I now use a black head band that I got from eBay which is very soft and comfortable. I cover my eyes and the band stops any leaks and makes for a much more comfortable sleep. This is a link to the head bands. I hope it helps.

My SleepWeaver Elan mask lasted for less than 2 months before the plastic connector would no longer stay attached to the cloth, coming off several times during a night. It's a good idea with a very-very poor design. Especially considering the premium price they are charging. I’m extremely disappointed, especially as I read the reviews @ the time of purchase & now feel they were misleading as to the suitability of this product. .

I had no problem with durability. Of course, I was always gentle.
I washed the cushions every morning in warm water and All Free and Clear.
My first small cushion was still working after 80 days' use.

I have used my Elan for some time now and used Advance before that. Only one time I had to reattach the fabric to the hose adaptor thingy because it kept coming off but I've not had that problem again. My problem is the strap - the velcro wears out too fast as far as I'm concerned and the strap comes lose or off at night. I definitely like it better than the old silicon masks I used! In fact, I tried to use one again and just couldn't stand it! So, aside from the strap for the Elan, I'm happy. In fact, the strap for the Advance could use some re-design, too. Didn't like the strap going down the middle of my head - could never style my hair without an indentation using that one! LOL!

Than is my only complaint with the Elan. If it just had clips so you didn't have to stretch the fabric to put it on and off it would be wonderful. The headgear wears out too fast. Undoing the velcro every time you put it on is too much stress on both me and the headgear.
