The story is about a democratic republic being stolen and converted into corporate fascism.

To answer Ed's last question ... there are only two things that the people can do to live happily ever after again:

1) Revolt violently, like the people of Egypt have been doing for a couple of years now, and take back control of our own government (no guarantee of a happy ending for everyone though).
2) Learn to become self-sufficient local communities and unplug from the broken/corrupt empire system and let it collapse into a historical era.

I've chosen the second option for myself.

PS - I'm waiting for Ed's sequel ... the fascist police state to control those who might choose option 1 above.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

Hmm, then why are you still online since the "evil" internet is part of the broken/corrupt empire system?

That's just plain being stupid.

I never said the internet was evil. How did you come up with that conclusion?

The term "unplug" was used metaphorically "to not participate in the political/government system" since as the video pointed out ... the 1% have already bought and paid for that system.

That's just plain being stupid.
Hmm, I have wanted to say that about many of your posts but I have refrained. Sorry, I don't mean to get into a "you too" debate but I wanted to mention that since you have resorted to calling my point stupid.

Since the internet is part of the establishment and can be used for monitoring people, I think my statement in calling it evil in quotes was legitimate. I didn't mean to infer directly that you had said it was.

Ok, point well taken although I don't think think it is necessary to roll your eyes at me.

Sorry "too". I suppose I could have used a different word like illogical or irrational or confusing or strange or weird or silly ... take your pick. You are free to call my posts stupid -- but then I would probably just dumb them down so that they can be better understood.

The government ("establishment") doesn't just use the internet to spy on people, they use all kinds of electronic technology for their surveillance like phones, cameras, electronic transactions, voting machines, and even your car if it is a newer model. All of those electronic gadgets are technological tools and tools are not evil ... people are evil.

Is shock and dismay ok? ... or perhaps a chuckle or two?

Dreamstalker,

Actually, I think the government uses the Internet in addition to the gadgets you mentioned to spy on people. I could be wrong.

And for you folks who think I have an obsession about this, I don't. Just so we're clear on this:)

Yeah, chuckling at my posts is cool

Ditto on"OP" not so much on "OT" that follows.

Nate, Thanks again for another meaningful post. I always look with interest to your post, as you are one of the many here I have found to always be informative and sensible.

And somehow manage to stay out of the slugfest-now that's an accomplishment.

You and others would be shocked to learn just how fast spy drone technology is advancing.

... to the size of insects ... how stupid/scary is that? ... they can go right up your skirt and take a look around to make sure you're not hiding something.

And radar penetrating and x-ray camera technology that can see through walls have been around for a while.

Congratulations on your contributions and accomplishments Mr. Steeve!

I can see that my posts are no longer informative or sensible ... I've got more meaningful things to attend to like helping to build a local permaculture community.

So so long s......

Nope, you aren't wrong... but who cares, I have more important things to worry about. And none of this is new news... been going on for years. All of a sudden people are up in arms about it.
