mask question: what would you do? Wisp and FX for her

Post by oak » Tue Aug 06, 2013 11:12 am

I used the Wisp mask for 3 weeks and then tried the Swift FX for her for one week. I cant decide which one to go with, or if I should try another one altogether. Here's what I have noticed so far:

Wisp: comfortable, AHI's in 3-5 range, get side leaks when turning on my side, nose doesnt get stuffed up, eyes dont water.

FX for her: even more comfortable than Wisp, AHI's in 1-2 range, no leak problem, but nose gets very stuffed up and eyes water in AM, headaches.

Your comments please. Thanks.

As soon as I read you get headaches with the Swift FX, I would think that the Wisp is probably the mask for you. Personally, I didn't like the Wisp, but I'd surely go with a mask that didn't give me headaches.

I recently ordered the Tap... that might be another one to try. Isn't attempting to find the perfect mask just loads of fun?

I am sympathetic to you wanting advise from others, but you need to decide what's best for you. I finally got the Resmed Quattro to "work" for me but I enjoy the Respironics Fitlife Total mask... and to me, there's not a whole lotta' difference between the two. But I know I would not be able to convince anyone this. I wouldn't even try... and I bet someone will try and talk you into another mask... probably the mask they use. At the end of the day (wow... literally ) you are the one wearing it so go with what you feel. Some folks do navigate between two masks for different reasons. Maybe this is the best solution for you.

My first response was also, "why not have both?" Make insurance pay for the most expensive,
and buy the other somewhere else.
