New and confused

I have been using a ResMed AutoSet Respond machine for a month. Feel I have been persistent, but have not seen any results as yet. I am determined to continue using. Was using a Ultra Mirage Full Face mask and could not stop it from leaking even with 2 adjustments from the respiratory therapist. Last night was my first night with new mask, FlexiFit 431. Found it very difficult to get adjusted, but was finally successful. I think I had a better night, still unsure. Once I get past this mask thing I want to start to monitor my own progress. Can I do it with this machine. When I asked the RT she was evasive and said it would cost about $1200 and then I would aslo have to purchase a reader. Have been reading the responses in this forum for a couple of weeks and get the impression that most people monitor daily progress. Am I correct and is the above price reasonable.

I have learned a lot by reading all of your questions and the responses. So much more to learn. Good thing I have the time since I am retired.

The Autoset Respond does not have a memory in it and cannot be downloaded as a result. It is the lower priced version of the Autoset Spirit. Sorry to confirm your fear about it. The good news is that this machine tends to do a fine job adjusting pressure to user needs.

Actually MM even though this machine doesn't have a smartcard, you can download data directly from the machine to a PC.

QuilterB you will want to find out what type of data you can get in order to see if it's worth the cost of the software. AND your DME is incorrect. It won't cost you that much. My DME tried that song and dance with me. My response was really? Well I can buy the software online for $99. That shut em up. Of course, my software was for my P&B 420e APAP.

Thanks for the response. I just got off the phone with ResMed and they confirmed that the ResMed Auto Respond does not support any software. Very disappointing. My next avenue will be to try to convice my doc that I need to track my progress because I am not seeing anything positive in the way I feel.

Thanks again!
