Well....I bought the Wisp. I wasn't 100% sure until I saw cpap.com giving FREE return insurance on it, so I thought I might as well!

Last night was my first night.

Pros:
1. Very comfortable
2. No leaks that I noticed from the mask
3. Very quiet

Cons:
1. Red mark on my nose I'll try loosening it a bit tonight as long as it won't leak. I hope I can control the red mark issue as that is the main reason I wanted to switch masks. It didn't feel tight.

That's the only negative. So far, I like it.

I got the Swift FX Nano, and LOVE it! It is so light and I have very little problems with leaks. Occasionally I might get a bit of a leak at the bridge of my nose, but all I do it tuck that area of the mask in and I'm back to sleep.

I tried the Wisp, but it was just too much mask for me. Too much head gear, and the nasal portion leaked like a siv.

I also purchase a Swift Fx Nose pillow piece and the bella straps just to switch things up. The Swift Fx head gear is interchangeable with both the pillows and the Nano nasal portion. I don't think the bella straps would work with the Nano nose piece - too heavy.

That's my 2 cents worth... hope it helps!
Are you seeing any redness on the bridge of your nose? I mean the lower bridge of your nose. The Nano doesn't reach all the way up to the high bridge of your nose, does it?

Also, you start out saying the Nano is so light. But your last sentence re. the bella straps says it's too heavy. Would you please clarify. Thanks.

Thank you Papit!!! Guess what? I beat that and a .81 - whooo hooo!

Still having the red mark on the nose issue. I guess I will have to buy the mask liners after all.

For those who have tried the liners, do they ELIMINATE the red marks all together? I hope so!

Congratulations...you sure have come a long way from that original PR S1 150 model machine you started with haven't you?

I know you went through a lot of trouble to get your current machine.
For the newbies here who also get stuck with bricks....this question for you....was it worth the trouble you went through to get to this point?

Thanks Pugsy!! Yes, I finally feel like I'm getting close. All I need is for the bridge of my nose to not be red and sore and I will be a very happy camper!

Yes, I had to pay about $650 out of pocket for the machine and lost out on money to the DME. But...I am glad I did it. I check my sleepyhead graph everyday and feel like it (along with everyones help here) has helped me to troubleshoot and improve my numbers.

Finding the right mask has been challenging and I have had to spend out of pocket on those too and accessories, but I think the wisp may be the right mask for me. We shall see.

I love my machine, love my hose buddy! And my chinstrap is helping as well. Getting better. Thanks for your help, support and encouragement.

Bump!

For those who have tried the pad-a-cheek liners for the wisp, do they ELIMINATE the red marks all together?

Yes it works for me. I do not get the red marks using the pad a cheek liners. I have a light blue and a pink one. I just noticed that the pink one seems to have made the wisp a little pink but the blue one has not transferred any color into the wisp.

Thank you beautifuldreamer.

I didn't know if I should buy it since I am still in trial period of the mask, but it if eliminated your red mark completely, then it sounds like it would be worth it. Good to know about the colors too, thanks for your feedback!

You are welcome. I also wasn't sure if I would stay with the wisp but my numbers were definitely best with using the wisp and I went ahead and bought the pad a cheek liner since I have sensitive skin.

I know what you mean about the numbers. I have had my 4 best numbers out of 6 nights of use that I've had in my 6 months of therapy....excited!

So, I just checked my sleepyhead and I had an AHI of .68 - WHOA!!! .68! I thought those numbers were only for other people....lol!

Does the redness come from sensitivity to silicone? I have sensitive skin too. I thought it was from pressure from the mask, but I only have it tight enough that it won't leak and it doesn't feel very tight, but I still wake up with a bright red mark on my nose that doesn't completely go away.

I'll order the pad-a-cheek liner for it today, in the light blue.

Before bed, I wipe my mask and face with a baby wipe.
It seems to help with keeping irritation down to nearly nothing.
I have been told that contact dermatitis is often mistaken for allergies,
but results from dirt and microbes trapped in perspiration, especially under excess pressure.
(or so I was told)

Thanks CF. I too wipe my mask with a wipe and my face with witch hazel before bed.

Do you use a liner with your wisp?

I have one more question about the wisp for those who use it....

I measured clearly within the sm/med range and I have used that size for 5 of the 6 nights and tried the lg one night.

I'm just wondering how close to the nostrils is it supposed to be on the sides, because my is right there...maybe even compressing them just a bit.

That is why I tried the lg, but I'm not sure if that is too big. It did seem to leak a bit more.
