S9 climate line

I am going to use the climateline with my new S9 auto-set device. Two nights ago on my S8 I turned down the humidity and heater to 1.0 and I woke up sneezing for the next two days because the air was too dry but I was concerned about rainout. If I use the climateline tubing and set it to auto, how will I be able to ensure that my humidity will stay above 1.0? I think I need about a 2-2.5 setting to avoid my sinuses from getting irritated? Should I set it to patient or auto? Last night I could only stay on the CPAP for 5 hours due to my sneezing but what the machine told me was that virtually all the episodes while I was asleep were central apneas. I had a few obstructive but those were as I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep. I think I will still try the auto setting and see how I do on that once I get a few more days of data.

If you use the ClimateLine hose in Auto Mode, it maintains a Humidity of 80% regardless of the Temperature you set. In fact, in Auto Mode, you can only set the temperature.

That feature is what keeps rainout from occurring.

I recently got an S-9 machine and climate hose. I am trying to understand what it means if I set my humidifier at 2, and the hose at 75. What does the 2 actually mean in regards to the amount of humidity? And the temp set on the hose does exactly what? I just got a Swift FX nasal pillow mask which I like. But every morning ( sometimes in the middle of the night} I feel and hear water in the nasal pillows. I've tried setting the humidifier off and the climate line at 65 or 70. I still get moisture in my nasal pillows. What do do? Thanks.

Our exhaled breath also contains moisture and if the bedroom temp is cool enough that moisture can condense in the nasal pillows themselves. Sometimes are added heat to the heated hose will enable that air in the nasal pillows to stay warm enough so that the moisture isn't released but sometimes it isn't.

I found that the Padacheek's barrel cozy provided just enough added insulation to the nasal pillows so that the air in the barrel of the pillow was able to stay worm enough to still hold the moisture. It's super comfy against the skin too.

Did you know that people who don't even use a humidifier can get condensation at the mask level? Yep..if the conditions are ripe for it...it can happen. I have seen a good many people mention it.

I think you will really like them. I got my first one in Feb 2011 to help with my own rain out issues in the Swift FX nasal pillow and it was a tremendous help for me.
The comfort thing was a nice little plus. Feels like silk against the skin. Not that the nasal pillows were uncomfortable but just something that made it a little more comfy.

I have since changed to the Tap Pap nasal pillow mask (last March) but I was still using that same barrel cozy that I bought 2 years ago up until that time. It doesn't quite fit but I hear the Swift LT barrel cozy will fit and I most likely will get another before winter comes along.
I have had a bit of condensation in the barrel part of the Tap Pap even using the heated hose on my 60 series machine already...so I suspect that this winter when I have a really cold bedroom that I will be adding the barrel cozy to my equipment again.
